SEAM Industry Research Consortia

New Life of Field:  SEAM's upcoming project examines the full Life of Field workflows and data flows, including simulations of reservoir and fluid dynamics. The project commenced in December 2015 with a pilot that is launching a full project startup in December 2016 with early deliverables beginning after a two year period.

1

SEAM’s NEXT RESEARCH PROJECT“Life of Field”

SEAM ADDRESSES THE NEXT GRAND CHALLENGELife-of-field workflows involve expertise in geology, engineering, and geophysics. The full work process is not adequately benchmarked for interpretation accuracy, and workflows are inefficient. Exercising an industrial-scale synthetic data set could significantly improve this.

SEAM LOF data will be generated for complex geology, complete reservoir description, and geophysics. Reservoir dynamics will then be simulated, along with the resulting well and geophysical and geo-mechanical responses. The resulting data can be used to estimate the “inverse” problem of interpreting reservoir dynamics in a unique condition in which everything about the reservoir is known.

For more information, contact [email protected] visit www.seg.org/SEAM.
