Job Title: Toddler Group Leader
Summary of the role:
To run the Parent and Toddler Group at Sidcot School
Hours of work: 8.30am – 11.30am one day a week term time only
Salary: £10 per hour
Line management responsibility for: N/A
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. To create a friendly supportive environment for the group, where children and parents are encouraged to explore imaginative play, develop mutually beneficial social relationships and explore our Quaker inspired approaches to parenting. 2. Set out the room for each session: materials, furniture, activities, snack, crafts etc. ensuring all equipment is stored away tidily and safely after the session. 3. Clean and tidy the areas used by the Parent & Toddler Group after every session. 4. Provide a well-balanced programme of activities for the children and adults. Materials required (including food, craft) to be ordered through the School Office where needed or through the ‘claim back’ system. 5. Welcome and care for parents/ carers and children during the session. 6. Help take care of children needing comfort or first aid in cooperation with the child’s parent/carer. 7. Encourage age-appropriate play and inspire parents through example. 8. Keep a register of attendance, collect contact details from new parents. 9. Take payment for the sessions and handing it over to the School Office. 10. Promote appropriate events associated with the School. Providing families with relevant information. Literature to be provided by the school. 11. Provide a gateway to the School, working to bring families into the School community and encouraging applications to our Nursery.
