ROAD ANGELTM PURE is a standalone GPS camera and accident blackspot locator. It uses the latest global positioning satellite technology to give you audible and visible alerts as you approach hazardous sections of road:

• Fixed safety cameras • Bus Lane cameras • Average speed monitoring zones • Mobile safety camera vans • Accident blackspots (as designated by the Police and Local Authorities) • Mobile laser guns • Primary schools, congestion charging zones and unprotected level crossings • Snap to road technology

With over 250,000 miles of road around the UK, knowing the speed limit is often guesswork, that’s why ROAD ANGELTM PURE also has an onboard database of road speed limits. Provided by Here™, the road speed information is presented in a circular road speed sign at the bottom left of the device.

There are some pre-requisites which are important to understand when setting up your ROAD ANGELTM PURE for the first time. Please take a few minutes to read the instructions which will help you get started.

By using mobile phone technology, ROAD ANGELTM PURE also allows you to both share the LIVE locations of mobile safety camera vans. CameraShare™ and is a unique feature to ROAD ANGELTM, and empowers you to keep yourself, and other ROAD ANGELTM users, safe on the roads.

We’re confident you will have a satisfactory experience as a new user and have written this guide to help you acquaint yourself with its operation, which is designed to be simple and unobtrusive.

5OVERVIEW

Please read the instructions to ensure your ROAD ANGELTM PURE is set up correctly.

The ROAD ANGELTM PURE has two buttons, thus simplifying its operation and helping to avoid the temptation to adjust the equipment while driving. All configuration is done by connecting via your smartphone, PC or Mac, making the menus easier to navigate.

Once the unit has been registered and your subscription has been purchased the alerts database will be updated and the unit enabling the device to function.

6BEFORE YOU BEGIN

1. Firstly, the device will need to be charged up for the first time, which may take 8 hours, possibly overnight.

2. A subscription can then be purchased for the unit to receive the database updates. You can do this via our website www.RoadAngelGroup.com by using the serial number on the base of the unit.

3. Finally, you have the option to configure the settings of the device which can be to suit your requirements. To do this we suggest you familiarise yourself with these settings which can be adjusted either from:

SCREEN 3This mode is similar to the last, but with bolder characters and numbers for improved visibility.

SCREEN 4This is for users who enjoy a clean and simple display. It removes all icons except the Road Speed Limit, your current speed and the compass. Icons will show when the device is alerting though.

Live Mobile Safety Camera Van - A Live Mobile Safety Camera Van will alert the user to the fact that Mobile Speed Enforcement is being or has been used recently at a location. Users can also set a location as 'Live'. If the device is alerting to a Mobile Safety Camera Van location and there is speed enforcement taking place, pressing the top left button on the device will flag up the site to other connected users.

4. On your Smartphone, go to the Settings menu.


5. On your Smartphone, select. Wifi and make sure it’s enabled.


6. Look for the ROAD ANGELTM and select it to connect to it.


7. Once connected it will state that there is no internet connection.


8. Open the ROAD ANGELTM app on your Smartphone or Tablet.

9. This will take you to the Connect Menu of the app.


10. Once connected to the device you will be taken to the Main Menu of the app.


11. First we need to ‘READ’ the current settings by touching the above.

Now you can see the initial configuration menu where you can read and customise the ROAD ANGELTM PURE settings. Remember to save these changes by updating the device at the end. More on the options changes in the coming pages.


11. An alert will be sent to your Smartphone once the ROAD ANGELTM has been read.

Hardwired Mode: Most users will be usually run the ROAD ANGELTM PURE from the supplied cable to their cigarette lighter or any USB port your vehicle may have, but it is, of course, possible to arrange to have the device “hardwired” directly to your car’s wiring loom. In this case you would need to switch Hardwired Mode to ‘On’ and Auto Standby to ‘Off’.

Download and install the ROAD ANGELTM PURE Update Software from our website www.roadangelgroup.com Tech Support page.

3. Install the software on your PC by running the

.exe file and on a mac by opening the zip file

and click on the ROAD ANGELTM Updater icon.

4. Select your preferred installation location and

then click Next or simply click Next if you are

happy with the location automatically selected.

Don’t forget to have your ROAD ANGELTM PURE connected to your computer by the supplied USB cable.

5. Click on the Next button to proceed with

the installation.

6. Once the installation has completed, click

on Finish.

7. Activate the software from the quicklaunch taskbar

and update the ROAD ANGELTM PURE if required.

(Usually needed the first time).

Note: The ROAD ANGELTM PURE is showing as

‘connected’ and needs updating.

8. Whilst the ROAD ANGELTM PURE is updating, do not disconnect the device during this process. Please be aware that this process may take up to on hour to complete.

9. Once the ROAD ANGELTM PURE is up to date, this will be highlighted in the ‘Device Update Status:’ Note: The ‘update’ button is no longer highlighted.

10. Click the blue Configure button to update the settings in the ROAD ANGELTM PURE device.

AUDIO allows the user to configure the voice type, as well as the sounds made by the ROAD ANGELTM PURE. There is also an Intelligent Mute feature, which the user can set, which mutes the speaker if the speed is under the configured percentage above the limit. (e.g. +10% sounds at above 77 MPH in a 70 MPH limit & -10% sounds at over 63 MPH in a 70 MPH limit)

THE ALERT OPTIONS allows the user to customise their device and determine at what percentage of limit speed the alerts will sound.

The options are the same as one can configure from the smartphone app and allow users to customise the ROAD ANGELTM PURE to suit their own preferences for Audio, Display & Alerts, as well as show current device information. Remember to SAVE the new settings.



SOUND MENUHere you can select a sound and associate it with an alert. In this screen you are also able to amend the volume and listen to the sound before you apply it.


UNIT DATAThis shows the information about the ROAD ANGELTM PURE. Note that you can see the Subscription expiry date on this screen.

Finally, remember to save your new settings.

ROAD ANGELTM PURE is specially designed to be a simple-to-use addition to any vehicle, to alert and warn you in advance of known danger areas. In the comprehensive ROAD ANGELTM database, which is automatically updated whilst you drive, including Police, Local Authority and Department for Transport designated danger spots, covering safety camera locations, accident blackspots, safety camera vans, and red light cameras

Using the latest Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, ROAD ANGELTM PURE compares your position with the known danger spot locations and gives you an audible and visual warning as you approach them. An accurate GPS speedometer in the display gives you time to adjust your driving to the approaching danger.

ROAD ANGELTM products are aimed at increasing driver safety awareness and should always be considered a secondary, as an aid, to the primary purpose of driving a motor vehicle.

PLACEMENTPosition your ROAD ANGELTM PURE as most suitable on your dash board, so that is does not impair your windscreen visibility. We Recommend either to position the ROAD ANGELTM PURE centrally or on the lower right side of your Steering Column (nearest your Driver side A Pillar) the ROAD ANGELTM PURE should be fitted securely and all cable must be installed correctly via locations that do not impact the functionality of the vehicle functions or controls.

Please remember direct and excessive heat exposure can damage electronics, be mindful of this and remove the ROAD ANGELTM PURE while out of use during hot weather. MOT AND SAFETYWhen your vehicle undergoes a MOT Examination the ROAD ANGELTM PURE or any other Dashboard/Windscreen Mounted device should either be temporarily removed, or adhere to the rules and regulations of the MOT Examination Visibility parameters. The Wiper Blade coverage area of the windscreen should always be left in clear visibility.

Q. How do I configure the settings on my ROAD ANGELTM PURE? A. Having downloaded the ROAD ANGELTM PURE App to your smart phone, you will be able to Wi-Fi-hotspot between your ROAD ANGELTM PURE and your Apple or Android smartphone to personalise the settings on your ROAD ANGELTM PURE. When you have set up your device to your preferences, save the settings and disconnect. Your ROAD ANGELTM PURE will now have all your preferences saved. Q. How do I mount my ROAD ANGELTM PURE into my car? A. Your ROAD ANGELTM PURE comes with a Wireless Charging Dash Mount, and the bottom of the mount contains an adhesive pad. Peel back the film on the pad and affix to a suitable place on your dashboard. Alternatively, if you are using the windscreen mount, affix the windscreen mount to a suitable viewing angle, be sure not to obstruct you’re driving view. TIP. If you’re having your ROAD ANGELTM PURE professionally fitted, or hardwired into your car, your fitter or installer will do all the work for you and place the ROAD ANGELTM PURE in the place most suitable for you.

Q. How long will the battery last? A. The ROAD ANGELTM PURE battery will last an average of 4/5 hours.

Q. How long should I charge the unit? A. Charge the unit for the first time for at least 8 hours (possibly overnight) please see the battery level indication to show the level of charge, please let the unit stabilise after removing power.
