While its FreedomDrive 1 four-wheel drive system delivers un-paralleled balance, a Magnesium-Alloy Cross-Car Beam fortifies the world’s first front-wheel drive Jeep vehicle.

Leave it to a Jeep® vehicle to showcase that rare combination of brute strength and sophisticated prowess: the Compass 2.0L DOHC 16V Turbo diesel engine. By combining world-class materials, such as an alloy cylinder head and deep skirt, cast-iron cylinder block with a die-cast aluminium oil pan together with an electronically controlled high-pressure direct injection fuel system, Compass is capable of producing remarkable power while achieving tremendous efficiency.

Engine2.0 litre turbo diesel engine providing 103kW of power and 310 Nm of torque. Efficient Transmissions 6-speed manual combined with the 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine yields excellent acceleration and economy.

Balanced Ride and Handling Firm-feel power rack-and-pinion steering system is complemented by a 4-wheel independent suspension with Macpherson struts in the front and a multilink suspension in the rear to deliver a comfortable ride with fun-to-drive handling characteristics.

Freedom Drive I® 4WDChoose FWD or available Freedom Drive I® active full-time 4WD with selectable 4WD LOCK mode. This state-of-the-art electronic 4WD system anticipates the need for added traction and responds to wheel-slippage by transferring power to the rear wheels. This system also contributes to vehicle stability in cornering situations by modulating power to the rear wheels. Freedom-Drive I® takes a lighter toll on fuel economy than many 4WD systems by operating only on demand when on-road (unlocked), thereby minimising power-robbing friction and inertia.

The name is Limited. The amount of Leather used is not. Beneath the leather-trimmed surface of the driver’s seat on Compass lies a second-generation common seat core structure that not only delivers enhanced safety and support, it accommodates a lumbar support system and manual height adjuster.

Flexible Seating and CargoJeep Compass provides a generous 2696-litre interior passenger volume; up to 1277 litres of cargo space when the rear seats are folded and 334 litres with the rear seats upright, and standard 5-passenger seating. The front- passenger seatback folds flat to enhance the ability to haul long / large cargo. The standard 60/40 split-folding rear seat allows additional flexible cargo-carrying options, and the rear seat features a reclining seatback to provide extra head room and enhanced comfort in the back.

Vinyl Cargo Area Load FloorThe rear compartment features a flat-folding vinyl load floor that is removable and washable to keep cargo-area mess to a minimum, and a concealed rear storage bin provides additional room for cargo. The rear compartment lamp doubles as a unique removable/rechargeable LED flashlight that charges when stowed in its housing.

Centre ConsoleThe Compass centre console features a full length adjustable sliding armrest with flip out MP3 player holder and a large storage bin that holds up to 10 CD’s. It also features an input jack for your MP3 player.

Further storage options include A driver-side cubby box and a storage cubby located beneath the radio in the centre stack.

Safety & Security

Air BagsAdvanced multistage driver and front-passenger air bags with Low-Risk Deployment Technology integrated into passenger air bag.

Standard supplemental side-curtain air bags provide side-impact protection to front and rear-seat outboard occupants.

4-Wheel Disc Antilock Brakes with Brake Assist and Traction Control Designed to prevent brake-induced wheel lockup during severe braking manoeuvres, ABS automatically pumps the brakes many times per second in potential wheel-lockup situations. This action results in shorter stopping distances and increased steering control. Included as part of the ESP system, Brake Assist helps shorten panic stop distances by providing an active power booster that provides the maximum braking effort when needed.

The Off-Road ABS calibration used on Jeep Compass provides more sustained wheel lockup than normal ABS for improved stopping performance on plowable surfaces like loose dirt, gravel, sand and mud.

Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) with Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM)† The Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) aids the driver in maintaining directional stability. ESP will do whatever can be done, within the limits of available traction, to keep the vehicle on its intended course coupled with ERM which applies selected brakes to reduce the likelihood of a rollover incident.

ISOFIX/LATCH For added peace of mind, all Jeep Compass models feature user-ready child seat lower anchors and top tether anchors for rear-seat positions. These anchors help improve the overall performance of compatible aftermarket child seats by minimising their movement.
