Sometimes a chance encounter on a weekday can result in
suddenly finding yourself in a large group gathered around the
table for a potluck dinner and backyard games Or perhaps an
unplanned intimate and cozy visit to a cafeacute with a subsequent stroll by
the water together with an old - or new - friend A spontaneous day
or evening like that can be one of those that imprint themselves on
your memory much more so than a long-planned dinner party with
several days of preparation Luckily special times are not reserved
for special occasions In fact improvised get-togethers are also really
good when you live in a country like ours where the weather is so
capricious Who hasnrsquot had their plans ruined by the weather Wersquove
experienced that plenty of times Thatrsquos why wersquove started improvising
and being a little more spontaneous Wersquove simply decided that
when the weather is really great we need to enjoy it in some way or
another - even if itrsquos just lazing in a hammock in the backyard or in
the nearest park A bike ride to nowhere in particular a trip to the
beach with your neighbor or grilling hot dogs over a fire with family
and friends - it really doesnrsquot matter Whatrsquos important is that we
allow ourselves to seize the opportunity and prioritize being together

things for the garden Itrsquos only natural that these exact plants are the ones we buy - because theyrsquore the ones we notice first But there are many rdquoneglectedrdquo and somewhat insignificant perennials that are worth bringing home Theyrsquore beautiful in themselves nice company for the plants we usually buy and not least theyrsquore often the ones to bring nature into our garden beds After all they create the wild and romantic garden that is in fact the very closest to our hearts read on to find inspiration for using these rdquoneglectedrdquo beauties

CranesbillPerennial thatrsquos available in different heights everything from short varieties that work well as ground cover and border plants to taller types that will make the prettiest accompaniment to roses and peonies It has the sweetest flowers in shades of white rose pink bourdeaux-red and eggplant Lovely in bouquets
Chive or Alliumchives can be found in most gardens and why not place them between the roses and perennials of the garden small-flowered varitities of Allium are lovely as well With their purple and eggplant-colored flower balls they all make beautiful accompanying flowers Very nice in bouquets

ColumbineMeadow RueTall perennial that works best at the back of the garden bed It has the most delicate lacy flowers in large bunches comes in white rose and purple nice in bouquets
Chinese Meadow Rue Another tall perennials with the most beautiful violet-like flowers in white or rose gathered in umbels some varieties have filled-in flowers Looks most beautiful at the back of the garden bed Wonderful in bouquets

Sometimes a chance encounter on a weekday can result in
suddenly finding yourself in a large group gathered around the
table for a potluck dinner and backyard games Or perhaps an
unplanned intimate and cozy visit to a cafeacute with a subsequent stroll by
the water together with an old - or new - friend A spontaneous day
or evening like that can be one of those that imprint themselves on
your memory much more so than a long-planned dinner party with
several days of preparation Luckily special times are not reserved
for special occasions In fact improvised get-togethers are also really
good when you live in a country like ours where the weather is so
capricious Who hasnrsquot had their plans ruined by the weather Wersquove
experienced that plenty of times Thatrsquos why wersquove started improvising
and being a little more spontaneous Wersquove simply decided that
when the weather is really great we need to enjoy it in some way or
another - even if itrsquos just lazing in a hammock in the backyard or in
the nearest park A bike ride to nowhere in particular a trip to the
beach with your neighbor or grilling hot dogs over a fire with family
and friends - it really doesnrsquot matter Whatrsquos important is that we
allow ourselves to seize the opportunity and prioritize being together
