DEAR FRIENDS,

Choosing only twelve pictures for this calendar was adifficult task. I know that turning the page for eachnew month will bring smiles as the personalities of thechildren shine through; that little one with an impishgrin, the cuddly innocence of the newborn, or theboundless energy of a toddler. This picture is areminder that, like other children, this little guy wantsto experience the game catching a ball, standing in theoutfield, and running the bases.

Each picture reminds us of the joys of childhood. And each one is testimony to the importance ofproviding opportunities for youth to live life to thefullest through services such as music classes, tandemcycling, or community outings with friends, as well assupport and training for families immediately uponlearning their child’s diagnosis.

We celebrate World Braille Day on Louis Braille’s birthday. He created the code of raised dots for reading and writing that bears hisname and brings literacy, independence, and productivity to people who are blind or visually impaired.
