UF900 and the UF900A

250 KILL LIGHT or Ultra Fire 900 these are the same torch, the Americans buy it in USA as they cannot order direct from China as a

private person as they have dealerships in the USA for UF, its called the 250 Kill Light in USA, BUT we as South African’s can…. And

ordering directly from China is fast, easy and safe, the light is called an Ultra Fire 900 it is the exact same light just with another name. It is also less than half the price of the American bought version!!!! The Yanks,

well a few of them directly involved in bringing their lights in from China and giving it another name and adding on 100% profit or more, they

don’t like you speaking out so everybody can see they all buy from the same supplier, one guy tried his hardest to convince me about a new light similar to this light all brought in from the same China place to

USA, he tried to convince me it isn’t the same light, but shame man, the entire viewing population can see the two together, exactly the same all difference is he orders his with another name printed on the torch. It is the same as bass fishing pontoons, sold in hundreds of USA shops,

when they order they have the company logo put on it in China at the manufacturer, but it’s the same boat made in millions mass produced all

just with different names……… I will put in a thread at the end of this article from a specific forum, and you can see yourself its cheaper to buy in China than the USA and it’s the same torch, just half the price

and with another name.

Original set up – not good- to much glare – to low to barrel and silencer

My first attempt as shown above and light placed on the side was not good, the light hit the silencer and blinded me, and I could see ZERO through the scope, so needed another plan. The mount supplied was

to low for my rifle and was not a good fit.

I tried my 223 but the mounts hit the scope turrets,

I never had taller mounts…… and then I used my Optronics light mounts, slided them in each other and then used a China

mount bought overseas and whallaaaa bingo a good

solid fit as seen below on my 222.

I took the pressure switch apart and re soldered all connections.

THE IDEA WAS TO HAVE A SMALL GOOD

SHOOTING LIGHT

When I started to enquire about a smaller light for my night hunts, I looked at all the options, and then heard of the 250 Kill Light, it costs $125-00 and the extras, I then after internet searching came to find

the knockoff version the same torch just another name and less than half the price from the manufacturer (the Americans would not

believe I found the manufacturer and again tried to convince me of all kinds of smoke screen bullshit that’s its not the same light) to save face on a forum, as they don’t want the public knowing things…..

RANGE A huge problem I had was getting the truth from people, they

contradict each other, it also has a lot to do with the moon, if a moon is out you never get a proper reading of the light a torch throws, it

must be totally dark outside – one person will tell you the light is good to see a pig clearly at 125 yards through a 10 power scope on green or red etc, another will say he cant see 80 yards with the light on a

dark night on green or red, another will say he shoots animals at 250 yards with the light, everybody will spin a story, one hero on a forum

decided to answer me by telling me all about the human eye and how it effects range and whatever all other kinds of bullshit, no matter

who says what, - if you want answers test it yourself.

I sold a few DVD’s to a customer in Korea, and I asked him to buy me a light with the money, so no money changed hands and I was mailed a light for less than half the price of the American model.

THE LIGHT PACKAGE

Here is what is in the kit I ordered, the torch UF 900, then a pressure switch for on and off, a 25mm scope mount to fit the light on my

telescope, a charger and two batteries, a RED LED and a GREEN LED. The exact same light as the name kill light in America, only less

than half the price from China at the manufacturer directly just with another name.

The thing with these lights is these tactical lights are all made in

China and can be bought cheap, so the Americans buy them in bulk, they can have any name printed on the light and then it’s a light

called some other name but with a huge mark up, this light is $125-00 in America ( 250 Kill Light) but in China UF900 it costs $26, the

I wanted to test the GREEN LED especially at night as it throws a light much further and also some people say it scares away a

predator, so……. Soon we will see. However the MUCH is very debatable. In my opinion you get max 10m more range.

RESULTS

I decided to put out targets at 50m, 80m and 100m to start and see exactly how I can see a target at night, I made a drawing of a jackal and painted it out, I then paced out the different ranges and my test was a 10 power scope. I put the scope on max setting of 10, placed out my target and sitting on my shooting chair I aimed at the target, here is the EXACT report back on this scope light at the ranges and

what I could see. I walked out until I could no longer identify the animal and that was my final range estimate that I can honesty say

the light will be any good at, here they are; Far too many people contradict each other, the ONLY way is to test the light yourself personally and get an EXACT honest reflection of what it can do, don’t trust most people selling them, they will say any rubbish to sell the torch. Report with full explanation follows;

HERE WE GO!

50m Red; Perfect and clear Green; Perfect and clear

80m Red; Perfect and clear Green; Perfect and clear

90m Red; Ok and can identify and shoot Green; Perfect and clear

100m Red; Will say 95m is maximum Green; Still ok and shootable, max - 110m. ---------------------------------------------------

Maximum Distance I will attempt a shot on GREEN is 110m Maximum Distance I will attempt a shot on RED is 90m These are 100% accurate results with a top class 10 power scope, my eyes are 100% and the scope is of the best quality for night hunts, these are ranges this

light will allow, not a metre more.

TESTING ON PREDATORS

I wanted to test the GREEN LED on predators as I have read so many negative reports, well 40% say NO and 60% say YES it

does scare them, well again here we go, again 100% accurate report back to follow. I decided to do my tests on Bat Eared

Foxes, as these critters come in a lot together most times, and nice and close, so I thought using them as an experiment would be the best and far easier to study as we can call them in and check out the story as they tend to stick around a while before

moving off unlike jackals. Please note I am not calling these harmless creatures in to shoot them, only to call and see what they do in the green light. We do not shoot Bat Eared Foxes.

CONCLUSION

I in total called in 4 Bat Eared Foxes, the closest was about 25m and longest range about 60m the animals never even showed a seconds irritation when the light was on them, it seems the green light although it throws further it does not bother the animals at all. I called in 3 owls, and they sat on the ground between 40-70metres from me. They looked in the green light and none got light fright. I called in a jackal

and followed him all the way in with a green light; he showed ZERO sign of light fright.

ALTERNATIVE MOUNTS

If you have a 30mm scope or want other mounts, you can buy a LED LENSER bicycle mount or gun mount, they are R50-00 and R80-00, and solid torch mounts for a rifle

scope.

TIP

Here is a small thing I did to my mount to make my light

stand higher on the scope to stop any light reflection over my barrel. I simply put a dowel in the centre to get more

height, works very well.

Some problems set in with scope mounting a light like

reflection etc, this is a neat and simple way to reduce barrel glare, this is a great set up and this gun is deadly accurate, I

zero my 222 to shoot 1 inch high at 100m, then out to 260m it is dead on the money. I also use a Lee Collet die I had made for my own rifle at LEE in America, it costs $60-00 and you mail them two fired cases from your rifle, they

then make you a die for your own rifle.

I set my scope up with a funnel and it throws 10m more

on green, so I can shoot to 120-130m with this light as it is here.

This was my test area, the road towards gate was 130m and with the funnel I could shoot that far no problem.

THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND FORUMS – GOOD

READING This is interesting reading from some forums, this was not

me, it is other people who wrote in etc etc…. look especially at the red part!

I had seen a lot of guys rave about the new XLR 250 Kill Light from Elusive Wildlife Technologies. It's performance beats anything on the market for a scope light or for a scan light for coyotes. I had one problem, I needed two of them and extra batteries and I didn't want

to spend almost $300. I'm sure I'm not the only person who is

hesitant to spend this kind of money on a hunting light. So I did some research and was able to track down the manufacturer

(Brinyte) of these lights directly. The prices I found were astonishingly cheap. Here is the breakdown of what I purchased: Two UF900 Cree Green LED lights (same as XLR 250) - $21.21 each

One 1-inch scope mount - $1.82 One Tailcap with pressure switch - $3.79 Four batteries (with overcharge protection) - $3.52 each One battery charger - $4.18

Shipping and Handling (From China) - $46.87 TOTAL = $113.16

I saved about $180 by getting these lights directly from the manufacturer. It took less than three days for the shipment to

arrive...from China! Now I know some people don't like China, but this is the same place Elusive Wildlife, SniperHawg and all the others get their lights from. I don't recommend buying

the tailcap switch though. You have to maintain constant pressure on it for it to stay on and I didn't like that about it. If you're

called an 'Ultrafire 900'. I just figure with the economy like it is, some people may be needing a cheaper option for night hunting. I

You guys would crap your pants if you really knew how much these lights cost, they are made by a company in China called Brinyte, the model names usually change around but the UF-900 is usually the model and can be had with any color combination, price is generally around $35 each + shipping

I'm glad somebody said something because I was about to. I paid $19.99 for a Brinyte UF-900. People don't realize the body for these lights sell for around $8.

I agree with you… People can by the Brinyte UF-900 if you can find them for sale; people don’t know when it comes to flashlights in China most of them will look the same and will also be made of many different materials not just aluminum…

The main thing people don’t understand when it comes to flashlight is it is 90% internals and only 10% body; you can have the best flashlight body but without a good LED and Driver it is only a god paper weight. I hope this information helps some of you to know a little more about flashlights so you won’t make the mistake of just buying cheap off the web sites selling the cheap lights. they're still available, under different names. Even Brinyte as different names for basically the same light, I do notice that they don't sell them on ebay though as that would be obvious, but you can order directly from China, I do it all the time
