2. Advertising [DP]2.1. Competitor advertising will be restricted in accor-
dance with International J/80 Class Rule (J/80CR) C.2.
2.2. Boats may be required to display advertising at the following spots on the boat chosen and supplied by the Organizing Authority:
• Bow numbers• Advertising at bow • Advertising at mainsail boom (foremost 20%)• Advertising at backstay flag• Advertising at harbor flags • Advertising in the cockpit (aft 1.5 m)
3. Eligibility and Classification [NP]3.1. The regatta is open to boats of the J/80 class as de-
fined by the J/80CR. 3.2. This regatta is designated as a “member” event.
J/80 National Class Association shall confirm each boat‘s, each owners and each helmsman‘s mem-bership status through the Measurement Website www.j80measurement.com and a valid ICA-sticker affixed on transom of hull.
3.3. The classification requirements of J/80CR C.3.3 will apply.
3.4. Crew substitution during the event may only be done with the agreement of the Race Committee.
4. Entry and Fees4.1. Eligible boats may enter by registering on the event
registration website manage2sail.com, completing forms and paying the required fees (see 6.2).
4.2.

After May 15th, 2015 600 €
4.3. Entry fee includes berthing and trailer storage through the event (July 4th-11th), crane usage in Kiel-Schilksee (only one haul in and one haul out), social events consisting of: Opening Ceremony and Mid-Week Party for each crew member on board. Additional tickets for companions and shore crew are available during the entry system.
4.4. Each participating boat shall be insured with valid (and for the racing area suitable) third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 3,000,000 (Three Millions) € per event or the equivalent and shall send this insurance with the entry to the Organizing Au-thority and present it at time of Registration.
4.5. Youth Wild Cards. To ease the financial burden for youth crews each national class association (Benelux, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Spain, Sweden, UK, USA) will receive five (5) wild cards for crews with age under 27. The nati-onal class associations shall be responsible for the

1. Rules1.1. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined
in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS). 1.2. No national authority prescriptions will apply.1.3. RRS Appendix P, Special Procedures for Rule 42, will
apply as amended by the sailing instructions.1.4. Jury-Hearings may be conducted under the Arbitra-
tion System.1.5. All support boats shall be registered with the Organi-
zing Authority and are required to comply with local legislation and event support boat regulations. [DP]
1.6. The official language of the event will be English.

selection of the beneficiaries thereof and will nomi-nate the teams who qualify for a special Youth Entry Fee of 290 € to the Organizing Authority until May 15th, 2015.
5. FormatIf the class has a large number of entries, the Organizing Au-thority may split the fleet. Split fleets will sail a qualifying se-ries and a final series.

7. Measurements7.1. All sails to be used during the event are subject to
fundamental measurement for compliance with J/80CR. They shall be registered on the International Measurement Web Site, else they will not be eligible. www.J80Measurement.com.Measurement will take place either during the measurement and inspection period, or at another official Worlds measurement opportunity.
7.2. All boats shall be measured (including weighing)
during the measurement and inspection period, or at another official Worlds measurement opportunity.
7.3. All crew will be weighed for compliance with J/80CR C.4 during the registration times.
7.4. Measurement or equipment inspections may be conducted afloat or ashore before or after any race.
8. Sailing InstructionsThe Sailing Instructions will be available at registration.
9. Venue9.1. The regatta will be at Kiel-Schilksee Olympic Center.

9.2. The racing area will be Kiel Bay, Kiel-Schilksee, Germany.Addendum A shows the approx. location of the course areas.
10. The CoursesThe courses to be sailed will be windward/leeward as descri-bed in the Sailing Instructions.

13.3. When not racing, boats may confer with their re-gistered support boats in person without the use of electronic communications.
13.4. Support boats shall be registered with the harbour master and abide by support boat instructions as stated in the Sailing Instructions.
13.5. All support boats shall have an operating VHF radio capable of transmitting and receiving on VHF Chan-nel 72, and agree to assist the Race Committee if directed to do so.
13.6. Berths for support boats will not be provided (space and fee) by the OA.
14. Moorings and Haul-Out Restrictions [DP]
14.1. All boats must be afloat by 19.00 hrs. Sunday July 5th unless the race committee gives written permis-sion to launch later.
14.2. Once boats are launched after measurement and inspection, they shall not be hauled out until the end of the regatta except with, and according to the terms of, prior written permission of the Race Committee.
14.3. Boats shall be kept in their assigned places while they are in harbor.
14.4. The berthing fee from July 4th-11th is included in the entry fee. Berthing before and after is possible but need appointment with the harbour master.
11. International JuryAn International Jury will be appointed in accordance with RRS 91(b).
12. Scoring [NP]12.1. Three (3) races are required to be completed to con-
stitute a championship. 12.2. a) When fewer than six (6) races have been com-
pleted, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. b) When six (6) or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
12.3. A maximum of 15 races is scheduled.
13. Support Boats13.1. Boat shall not receive a tow to the starting area
except from other competing boats. 13.2. Rule 41 and the preamble to Part 4 of the RRS will be
modified to prohibit any outside assistance from the time a boat leaves her mooring and/or dock-slip for the first race of the day until she concludes racing for the day, except from other competitors, organi-zing authority boats, and registered support boats as permitted in 12.3.

17. Radio CommunicationVHF radios are mandatory for all races. A marine VHF tran-sceiver (if handheld, it shall be watertight or with a waterproof cover) shall be carried, function properly and be readily acces-sible all times. [DP] The race committee intends to make informational announce-ments on VHF. These announcements may include intentions for the day’s racing, OCS hails, mark changes, race postpone-ment, race abandonment, and other information.
18. Prizes18.1. Prizes will be given to the top 3 boats based on final
overall ranking. 18.2. The J/80 Worlds Championship perpetual trophy will
be awarded to the winner of the championship. 18.3. Daily prizes and give-aways may be awarded. 18.4. Other prizes may be awarded.
19. Limitation of Liability, Cognovits Clause
The responsibility for the decision to participate in a race or to continue with it is solely with the skipper; to that extent the skipper also accepts full responsibility for the crew. The skip-per is responsible for the qualification and the correct nautical conduct of the crew as well as for the suitability and the trans-port-safe condition of the registered boat. In cases of Force Majeure or on grounds of administrative orders or for safety reasons, the organizer is entitled to make changes in the rea-lization of the event or to cancel the event. This does not con-stitute any liability by the organizer towards the participant, if the reasons for the changes or the cancellation do not result from a willful or grossly negligent behavior of the organizer. In case of a violation of obligations that do not constitute pri-mary or material contractual duties (cardinal obligations), the liability of the organizer for financial and property damages incurred by the participant during or in connection with the participation in the event and resulting from a conduct of the organizer, its representatives, servants or agents, is restricted to damages that were caused willfully or grossly negligent. When a violation of cardinal obligations occurs due to minor negligence, the liability of the organizer is limited to foresee-able, typical damages. To the extent that the liability for dama-ges of the organizer is excluded or restricted, the participant also relieves the staff - employees and representatives, agents, servants, sponsors and individuals who provide or drive sal-vage, safety or rescue vessels or assist with their use - from the individual liability for damages, as well as also all other individuals who were instructed to act in connection with the
15. Diving equipment, plastic pools and other equipement [DP]
Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their equivalent shall not be used around keelboats between the preparatory signal of the first race and the end of the regatta except with, and according to the terms of, prior written per-mission of the Race Committee.
16. Media rights, cameras and electronic equipment [DP]
16.1. By participating in the event competitors automati-cally grant to the Organizing Authority and their sponsors the right in perpetuity to make, use and show, from time to time at their discretion, any mo-tion pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other reproductions of the athlete during the period of the competition without compensation.
16.2. Boats may be required to carry cameras, sound equipment or positioning equipment as specified and provided by the Organizing Authority.
16.3. The top three competitors as well as the individual race winners may be required to attend a media press conference each day.
16.4. Competitors may be required for interviews at the regatta.

Class and private parties during the event in the harbour area must have the permission of the Organizing Authority. Appli-cations shall be made prior to the event.

IV. Cranage and cleaning of the under-water hull only with appointment
The price for cleaning the hull of a J/80 is 160.00 € incl. HP-Cle-aner and disposal for 30 minutes. Crossbar craning not pos-sible with standing mast; due to technical reasons boats may also be rejected.
