Edgar “Dusty” Bredbenner Jr. ’50 Distinguished Alumni AwardAwarded to graduates who have demonstrated outstand-ing loyalty and service to Ithaca College over a long period,this is the highest award the alumni association presents.

Lifetime Achievement AwardThis award acknowledges alumni who have achievedexceptional success in their professions or who have con-tributed significantly to the advancement and leadership



of noteworthy civic, philanthropic, or service organizationsfor many years.

James J. Whalen Meritorious Service AwardNamed for Ithaca College’s sixth president, this awardrecognizes nonalumni for their distinguished contribu-tions (professional, civic, or philanthropic) to the College.

Outstanding Young Alumni AwardThis award is given to alumni who have graduated in thepast 2–10 years and who are excelling in their professions.All recipients have been recognized as emerging leadersin their fields.

Professional Achievement AwardThis award recognizes graduates who have achievednational, regional, or local distinction in their professions;who acknowledge the importance of their Ithaca Collegeeducation in reaching their career goals; and who havedemonstrated long-standing loyalty to the College.

Volunteer Service AwardGiven to alumni and nonalumni, this award acknowledgesthose who have contributed significantly to the College inone or more of the following areas: admission, careerservices, student affairs, regional activities, fund-raising,and athletics. Alumni and Homecoming WeekendFall 2009 will mark the first time Ithaca College will host acombined Alumni and Homecoming Weekend, and we wel-come all IC alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and stu-dents to join us.
