"O you who believe! When you intend

to offer As-Salat (the prayer), wash

your faces and your hands (forearms)

up to the elbows, rub (by passing wet

hands over) your heads, and (wash)

your feet up to ankles . If you are in a

state of Janaba (i.e. after a sexual

discharge), purify yourselves (bathe

your whole body). But if you are ill or

on a journey, or any of you comes after

answering the call of nature, or you

have been in contact with women (i.e.

sexual intercourse), and you find no

water, then perform tayammum with

clean earth and rub therewith your

faces and hands. Allah does not want

to place you in difficulty, but He wants

to purify you, and to complete His

Favour to you that you may be

thankful."

Narrated ‘Aisha (May Allah be

pleased with her): He used to say: “Do those

deeds which you can do

easily, as Allah will not get

tired (of giving rewards) till

you get bored and tired (of

performing religious deeds).”

The most beloved prayer to

the Prophet was the one that

was done regularly (throughout the life) even if it

were little. And whenever the

Prophet offered a prayer he

used to offer it regularly.

Narrated Aisha: A lady along with her two

daughters came to me asking

(for some alms), but she found

nothing with me except one date

which I gave to her and she

divided it between her two

daughters, and did not eat

anything herself, and then she

got up and went away. Then the

Prophet (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) came in and I

informed him about this story. He

said, "Whoever is put to trial by

these daughters and he treats

them generously (with

benevolence) then these

daughters will act as a shield for

him from Hell-Fire." (See Hadith

No. 24, Vol. 8).

Page 17: Islam Significant Person - Aisha Bint Abu Bakr

Narrated `Aisha: Some of the wives of the

Prophet (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) asked him, "Who

amongst us will be the first to

follow you (i.e. die after you)?"

He said, "Whoever has the

longest hand." So they started

measuring their hands with a

stick and Sauda's hand turned

out to be the longest. (When

Zainab bint Jahsh died first of all

in the caliphate of `Umar), we

came to know that the long

hand was a symbol of practicing

charity, so she was the first to

follow the Prophet (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) and she

used to love to practice charity.

(Sauda died later in the

caliphate of Muawiya)

Hajj

Narrated `Aisha: (the mother of the

faithful believers) I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص)! We consider Jihad as the

best deed." The Prophet (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) said, "The

best Jihad (for women)

is Hajj Mabrur. "
