    Please Read CarefullyRules and Regulations

    1. All exhibits are shown at the owners risk and must be attended to by the

    owner or his/her agent at all times during the show. If an animal is deemed to

    be a risk to public safety, the owner or agent may be asked to remove same

    from show and shall forfeit their entry fee.2. Exhibitors are asked to have their own public liability insurance in place.

    3. The Irish Draught Horse Breeders Association shall accept no responsibility

    for any accident, injury, or loss of an animal arising from the negligence of the

    owner/exhibitor.

    4. The Irish Draught Horse Breeders Association reserves the right to cancel or

    postpone the show, or to amalgamate or amend classes.

    5. Stewards and safety officers are acting as agents of the association and their

    instructions must be obeyed at all times.

    6. The judges decision is final.7. Any objections must be lodged in writing with the show secretary within half

    an hour of the incident, accompanied by a deposit of 50. This deposit shall be

    forfeited if the objection is not upheld or is considered frivolous.

    8. Any and all disputes shall be referred to the show committee whose decision

    shall be final.

    9. The show committee, acting through its officers, reserve the right to refuse an

    entry.

    10. All entries must be registered on the Irish Horse Register. I.H.R. number and

    R.I.D. number (where applicable) must be supplied with entry.11. Passports for all entries (except foals) must be available for inspection.

    12. Foals must be led at all times.

    13. All mares with foal at foot must be accompanied by their foal in the ring.

    14. Riders must be correctly attired and wear the recommended head gear to BS

    standard with chinstrap fitted and correctly fastened when exhibits are being

    ridden.

    15. All exhibitors and spectators must obey officials at all times in the interest of

    safety.

    16. Persons entering an animal/animals and failing to send same for exhibition

    shall forfeit the entry fee.

    17. A filly is a filly until she foals; then she is in the mare class.

    18. The committee reserves the right to cancel, amalgamate or amend a class if

    there are insufficient entries.

    19. Entries should be sent to Helen Kelly, Derrynagarra, Collinstown, Co.

    Westmeath on or before the closing date. Entries must be accompanied by the

    appropriate fee.

    20. No late entries will be accepted.

    21. Judging will begin at 10:30am sharp.

    Class 1 or Class 2 in the Irish Draught Studbook, with foal

    at foot

    Class 2 Mature Irish Draught Mare, 7 to 12 years of age, approved

    as Class 1 or Class 2 in the Irish Draught Studbook, with

    Class 3 Senior Irish Draught Mare, 13 years of age and older,

    Class 8 ID Foal Championship, open to 1st and 2nd prize-winners

    in classes 6 and 7

    Prize Money: Champion 100; Reserve 50

    Class 9 Part-bred foal, colt or filly, progeny of mares in classes 1,

    2, 3, 4 & 26

    Prize Money: 1st 60; 2nd 40, 3rd 30, 4th 20

    Class 10 Stallion Exhibition

    A parade of Irish Draught stallions will take place at

    1:00pm (approximately). Class 1 and Class 2 ID

    stallions are eligible to parade. There is no entry fee for the

    stallion exhibition. Exhibitors are asked to provide as much

    information as possible with their entry form; this

    information will be used for the commentary. A maximum

    of15 entries will be accepted for the stallion exhibition, on

    a first come, first served basis. All stallions presented will

    receive a rosette and a gift from the IDHBA.

    Class 11 Mare of the Future Championship

    Open to 3 & 4 year old Irish Draught Mares, approved as

    Class 1 in the Irish Draught Studbook, with or without

    foal at foot

    Prize Money: 1st 300; 2nd 150; 3rd 100; 4th 60;

    5th 50; 6th 40

    Class 12 Progeny Group ClassOpen to an Irish Draught mare, approved as Class 1 or

    Class 2 in the Irish Draught Studbook, and any two of her

    Irish Draught progeny. The progeny must be by an Irish

    Draught Class 1 or Class 2 stallion. Each group of three

    will be judged as a unit. Horses within a group may have

    different owners. One prize to be awarded per group.

    Young Horses

    Classes 13 to 18 open to Irish Draught horses, either approved as

    Class 1 eligible for approval as Class 1 in the Irish Draught Studbook

    Class 13 ID 3 year old filly, either approved or eligible for approval

    as Class 1 in the Irish Draught Studbook.

    Prize Money: 1st 100; 2nd 50; 3rd 30; 4th 20

    Class 14 ID 3 year old colt or gelding eligible for approval as Class 1

    in the Irish Draught Studbook. Class 1 approved stallionsare not eligible.

    Prize Money: 1st 100; 2nd 50; 3rd 30; 4th 20

    Class 15 ID 2 year old filly eligible for approval as Class 1 in the

    Irish Draught Studbook.

    Prize Money: 1st 100; 2nd 50; 3rd 30; 4th 20

    Class 16 ID 2 year old colt or gelding eligible for approval as Class 1in the Irish Draught Studbook.

    Class 22 Young Show Person ClassOpen to persons over the age of 16 who have not

    attained their 22nd birthday on show day. This class is

    judged on the handlers ability to present and show anIrish Draught Horse. Handlers must be suitably attired.

    Ring 3RID Mares without Foal at Foot

    (Commencing 10:30am)

    Class 23 Small Irish Draught Mare, 3 years old and over, 15.3hh andunder, approved as Class 1 or Class 2 in the Irish Draught

    Studbook, with or without foal at foot

    (Mares will be measured for this class. Measuring will take

    place from 9:30am)

    Class 24 Young Irish Draught Mare, 4 to 6 years of age, approved as

    Class 1 or Class 2 in the Irish Draught Studbook, withoutfoal at foot

    Class 25 Mature Irish Draught Mare, 7 years and older, approved as

    Class 1 or Class 2 in the Irish Draught Studbook, without

    Ring 3Ridden Irish Draught Horses

    (Commencing 1:00pm approx.)

    Classes 27 to 31 open to ID stallions, mares and geldings approved as Class

    1 or Class 2 in the Irish Draught Studbook. AID or Supplementary Grade-Up Register mares are also eligible to compete.

    Class 27 Ridden Irish Draught, four and five years of age

    Prize Money: 1st 100; 2nd 50; 3rd 30; 4th 20

    Class 28 Ridden Irish Draught, six years old and over

    Prize Money: 1st 100; 2nd 50; 3rd 30; 4th 20

    Class 29 Leisure Horse Class - Open to horses 4yrs. old and

    over, Open to riders of all ages. Competitors will be

    asked to trot, canter, on both reins, complete a figure

    of eight, take optional low jumps, walk between

    cones, line up, rein-back, & dismount before leaving

    the arena. To be judged partly on enthusiasm of the

    pair and basic overall impression. This is a fun class;

    intended for those who do not compete on a regularbasis, but who enjoy their Irish Draught horses.Extra points to be given if rider is under 21 or over 50Extra points to be given if taking optional low jumpsExtra points to be given to maresPrize Money: 1st 100; 2nd 50; 3rd 30; 4th 20

    Class 30 Ridden Irish Draught Championship, open to 1st

    and 2nd prize-winners in classes 27, 28 & 29Prize Money: Champion 100; Reserve 50

    Class 31 Working Hunter Championship. The course will

    consist of 6 to 8 fences with a maximum height and

    spread of 1 metre. Marks will be awarded as follows:50% Jumping; 30% Ride and Manners; 20%

    Conformation.

    Ring 3Ridden Irish Draught Horses

    Class 32 Ridden Part-Bred Irish Draught, 4 yrs old and over, either

    sire or dam must be full Irish DraughtPrize Money: Prize Money: 1st 100; 2nd 50; 3rd 30;

    Ring 1

    Class 33 Supreme Champion of the Show

    Open to champions in classes 5, 8, 11, 21, 26, 30 & 31

    Prize Money: Champion 200; Reserve 100

    Inter Branch Shield

    The Inter Branch Shield is a perpetual Shield that will be presented to

    the chairman of the branch whose members accumulate the most pointsfor the branch.

    A member of a branch will be awarded four points for their branch if

    their horse is placed first in its class, three points if placed second, two

    points if placed third and one for participating.

    In the championships the champion will receive two points, and the

    reserve one point.

    The points will be totalled for each branch and the winner will be the

    branch that accumulates the most points.
