Hanyang University is the successor of DongA Polytechnic Institute, which was established in 1939, the first engineering college in Korea. In 1959, the institute became a comprehensive university.

To continue the momentum of progress, Hanyang University has been striving to promote internationalization and consequently, 500 courses instructed in English per semester by 150 foreign professors are now available.

Also, efforts such as these have allowed Hanyang to recruit about 3,800 international students, and the University also has formal relations with over 370 universities around the world.

The Faculty-led Program is specially designed to promote cooperation between Hanyang University and its partner universities. In this program, faculty members and students can come together to the Hanyang International Summer School (HISS). The faculty member can deliver a course(s) of their interest to both their home university students and other international students participating in HISS. By enrolling together, faculty members and students can take advantage of benefits such as tuition reduction. Please join us and have exotic experience of teaching and learning in Seoul, Korea!

HANYANG UNIVERSITY(HYU) FACULTY-LED PROGRAM SCHEDULE & PROCESS

FAQHYU QUICK FACTSELIGIBILITY

Faculty-led Program students will be given a special scholarship(50% of tuition) with free housing. For some universities, a tuition waiver and free housing can be granted depending on the established university-to- university agreement.

Airfare reimbursement will be transferred to a Korean bank account within two weeks after the program starts. Remuneration will be transferred on the Friday of the last week.

All faculty members are required to open a Korean bank account after the program orientation

You will live in our newly-built guest house on-campus. It is fully furnished, has free Internet access, and takes only 10 minutes on foot to get to the classroom.

All foreign faculty members must obtain a Certificate of Residence for tax exemption from the Korean government. Please consult with the National Tax Service or appropriate tax office (ex. IRS) to obtain the certificate.
