Job Posting # 14-077 Raymond James Ltd. is seeking an Analyst to join our Real Estate Investment Banking team in our downtown Toronto office. Our Investment Banking team is focused on serving the financial and advisory needs of Canadian mid-market and growth companies in market sectors covered by our equity research team. We offer a complete range of equity capital markets services with strong expertise in public offerings, private placements and syndication. Our advisory services include mergers and acquisitions advice and the execution and fairness opinions and valuations. Under the direction of the Managing Director, Real Estate Investment Banking, this role will provide the opportunity to gain significant client facing and deal exposure while playing a critical role in a highly successful group. Drawing on previous experience, the ideal candidate will possess sound financial modelling and valuation skills, a proven ability to take initiative and exceptional communication and presentation skills. Specifically you will:
• Work closely with other senior bankers and experts from other groups; • Develop new business, prepare client presentations and market new products; • Maintain strict adherence to RJL’s Investment Banking Policies & Procedures manual along
with all applicable regulatory standards; • Build and maintain strategic financial models & industry databases; • Analyze news releases, financial filings, business trade publications and company
presentations to glean market moving data; • Develop and maintain close relationships with corporate issuer management teams and
board members; • Proactively engage in activities designed to grow and enhance the Raymond James
Investment Banking franchise including arranging property tours, non-deal road shows and investor conferences;
• Collaborate with Raymond James USA Real Estate franchise to promote a global brand; • Recruit, mentor and manage associates assigned to the Real Estate sector; • Other duties as assigned.
To qualify for this opportunity you possess:
• BA or MBA from an accredited university; • Previous Investment industry experience is an asset; • Real Estate/REIT knowledge and experience is an asset; • Exceptional analytical skills with expert level financial modelling ability; • High technical proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power Point; • Excellent written & verbal communication skills; • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; • Strong knowledge of finance and accounting is preferred; • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills;
• Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a team with a high degree of initiative and motivation;
