OVERVIEWDanang City is situated at the center of Vietnam, one-hour flight from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Conveniently, it lies on the north-south communication axis of land route (National Road 1A), rail, sea and air routes. Danang borders Thua Thien - Hue Province in the north, Quang Nam Province in the south and the west, and the Eastern Sea in the east.

Danang is an important communication hub of the Central Region, Western Highlands and Vietnam. It has an international airport, a deep-water seaport, north-south land routes and a railway to facilitate economic activities, investment and tourism.

Danang Port is the well-equipped container port in the Central region, and one of the biggest commercial ports in Vietnam. In the past 5 years, the average growth rate of the volume of goods through the port was 13.4% per annum, of which the container volume grew at an average rate of 24% per annum.

From Danang Port, there are currently many direct international shipping lines to Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Europe and America. Also, Danang Port is an ideal destination for tourist ships.

Danang International Airport, less than 10 - minute drive from the city center, is one of the three best airports and the third busiest terminal in Vietnam. The new three - storey terminal on an area of 36,600m2 has enabled it to meet the standards of the International Aviation Transport Association and accommodate 4 - 6 million passengers per year.

Apart from domestic flights, there are 20 direct international flights from Danang to Asian countries, including 4 regular direct flights to Singapore, Siemriep (Cambodia) ,Hong Kong (China), Incheon/Seoul (South Korea) and vice versa. Danang-Japan air routes set to launch in the coming time.

Telecommunications

Danang is an important telecommunication hub of the country and in the world. It is also one of the three most important end points of the national trunk network and the international direct connecting point.

The International Marine Optical Fiber Cable Station (SEMEWE 3) with an international transmission line of 10 Gbps linking Vietnam with nearly 40 countries in Europe and Asia is based in Danang.

The world standard IT and Communication Infrastructure System in use, comprising a Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), a Data Center, and an IT R & D and Training Center, a public wireless connection system in the whole city.

“E-Government, E-Citizens, E-Enterprises” system has been built so as to make Danang an “E-city” by 2020.

Road System

The road system inside and outside the city has been continually expanded and newly built to facilitate the transportation and tourism development as well as transform the appearance of the most crowded urban area in Central Vietnam.

59 30 54The southern ring road is expected to be put into use in 2014, enhancing the East- West connection of Danang, and linking the city traffic system to the National Road 1A, 14B and Danang - Quang Ngai Highway.

The multi-level flyover project at Hue T-junction will be completed in 2015, aiming at relieving traffic congestion, and ensuring the safety on the National Road 1A.

Danang - Quang Ngai Highway - 130km long and 26m wide, will be completed in 2017 in order to facilitate cargotransportationandeconomicdevelopmentintheregion,connectingDanangwithChuLaiOpenEconomicZone and Dung Quat Economic Zone.

Being a multi-level and multi-disciplinary major regional university, the University of Danang (UD) takes the key part in training human resources and doing scientific research in Central Vietnam in particular and in the whole of Vietnam in general. Danang has many famous tourist sites close - by.

The beautiful and spiritual Ngu Hanh Son or Marble Mountains, with their mysterious caves and ancient pagodas and souvenirs made of marble by hundreds of talented stone sculptors, are one of the municipal symbols and less than ten kilometers from Danang.

The gorgeous Ba Na Mountain at the 1,487m height with a temperate climate, fresh air, unspoiled forest and spectacular views is only a 40 minute drive from Danang. It was known as a high-class resort developed by the French a hundred year ago.

The third one-line cable car system of Ba Na Hills Resort has a length of 5,771.61 meters, a high difference of 1,368.93 meters between its upper and lower stations, the non-stop cable with a length of 11,587 meters and cable rolls with a weight of about 141.24 tons, setting four Guinness World Records.

Fantasy Park is the only world-class indoor entertainment park in Vietnam located at the top of Ba Na Mountain.

The nearby Son Tra Peninsula is a natural conservation area and ecological tourist site suitable for trekking, diving, swimming and fishing.

The Museum of Cham Sculpture built in 1915 is the only museum in South East Asia, preserving the unique Cham cultural heritage of the region. It has more than 400 original masterpieces of Cham sculpture that were carved from the 7th to the 15th century, reflecting the spiritual life and the religion of Cham people.

Trung tâm Đào tạo Quốc tế Pegasus tọa lạc trên khu đất 5.1ha tại Khu đô thị Phú Mỹ An, Quận Ngũ Hành Sơn, Thành phố Đà Nẵng chính thức đi vào hoạt động ngày 30/12/2013. Pegasus thuộc Tập đoàn Giáo dục uy tín KinderWorld của Singapore và là trung tâm đào tạo quốc tế về lĩnh vực Du lịch và Khách sạn đầu tiện tại thành phố Đà Nẵng. Pegasus được xây dựng và trang bị cơ sở vật chất giảng dạy hiện đại bậc nhất trong khu vực. Các khóa học tại Pegasus chú trọng đến kỹ năng thực hành (chiếm 75% thời lượng học), bao gồm kỹ năng làm việc thực tế tại Nhà hàng The Bistro. Bên cạnh đó Pegasus còn cung cấp các khóa học chuyên ngành Quản trị Kinh doanh và tiếng Anh. Học viên sau khi tốt nghiệp tại Pegasus sẵn sàng đáp ứng những nhu cầu tuyển dụng nghiêm ngặt từ các doanh nghiệp trong ngành.

Các chương trình đào tạo của Pegasus được thiết kế nhằm đáp ứng các tiêu chuẩn không chỉ của Việt Nam mà còn của Đông Nam Á và quốc tế. Pegasus đã được Hội đồng cấp Chứng chỉ Du lịch Việt Nam (VTCB) công nhận là Trung tâm Đào tạo và Thẩm định theo Tiêu chuẩn Kỹ năng Nghề Du lịch Việt Nam (VTOS). Theo đó, Pegasus có thể cung cấp các khóa học VTOS trong nhiều lĩnh vực. Ngoài ra, Pegasus còn cung cấp các khóa đào tạo nghiệp vụ ngắn hạn và các khóa học thư giãn khác. Pegasus cũng đang tích cực làm việc với Bộ Giáo dục và Đào tạo để được cấp Quyết định thành lập Trường Cao đẳng Quốc tế Pegasus, cho phép Pegasus đào tạo bậc học cao đẳng, tạo điều kiện cho học viên của Pegasus chuyển tiếp lên bậc học cao hơn tại các trường đại học quốc tế đối tác.

The much anticipated development at Danang commenced with the opening of Pegasus International UniCentre (PIU) on 30 December 2013 on a 5.1 hectare landsite in the Phu My An urban area, Ngu Hanh Son district, Danang. KinderWorld’s Mixed Education Development project comprises education, training facilities, residential, commercial and other supporting services. PIU with its state-of-the-art institution will meet the needs of the growing tourism and supporting sectors in Danang and the greater Central Coast. The primary education focus of the Pegasus brand is in the area of hospitality, tourism, culinary arts, business and English language training. This is coupled with superb modern training facilities including a cafe – ‘The Bistro’ which is open to the public and is a part of our students’ industry training. Students will graduate from Pegasus with employability skills ready to meet industry needs.

Pegasus will offer local educational qualification requirements as well as ASEAN and International qualifications and pathways. With the granting of training and assessment centre status from VTCB (Vietnam Tourism Certification Board), Pegasus can provide a range of VTOS (Vietnam Tourism Occupational Skills Standard) courses. Further, Pegasus will also provide a range of professional development and leisure courses. In addition, applications are in progress which will enable Academic Certifi-cates and Diplomas to be delivered in the future, leading to already estab-lished articulated Degree programs.
