The Origination of Sinonn’s WESPSinonn is the only company in China who owns two types of Wet ESP technology, i.e.

Metal Electrode Plate WESP - from Finland Uni-Energy Oy

With more than 20 years successful operation in Finland, and widely installed in various elds including above 10000MW capacity of thermal plants.

Non-Metal Electrode Plate WESP - from Korean DAWOO Corp

Found in 1999, DAWOO Corp has set up 132 sets of WESP up to 2011 covering various elds, including Metallurgy, Waste Incineration, Acid Making, Titanium Oxide, etc. By 2014, there are 40 installations in coal-based thermal power plants. The DAWOO company is one of the earliest companies who developed and applied Non-Metal Electrode WESP technology to coal-red power plants. Its non-metal plate electrode (plate-type and pipe-type) wet electrostatic precipitators have a reliable operation performance of more than ten years in coal-red power plants. The unique front –end secondary condensing superne atomizing technology ensures WESP stable operation and high particulates removal efciency.

Working Mechanism of WESPThe Working Mechanism of WESP is same as traditional dry ESP, i.e. By High Electric Field to extract charged particulates and fog droplets in Flue Gas. 1. The corona of Discharge Electrode ionizes the air, and the particulates and droplets being charged by acquiring ions. 2. Under the force of Electric Field, charged particles and droplets move towards the opposite electrode and being collected. 3. The collected particles and droplets are removed by water ushing and gravity.

Even at height, even , continuous and complete water lm can be formed.

It can ensure the continuous & complete water lm, and there is no blind angle for ushing.

Even Flue Gas under the speed of 4.5m/s, even, continuous and complete water lm can also be formed.

Adoption of High Efciency Water Film Nozzle

The Water Film Nozzle, after optimized design and testing, can achieve best water lm spraying effect with minimum water consumption and the optimal operation pressure. There is no splashing, and the water mist will not spray to the Cathode Ray which can avoid sparks and suppress corona, and will not affect the charging of particulates.

One Nozzle for one Electrode Plate. The water mist sprayed by nozzles shapes a plate status with 95 degree and spays to Anode Plate based on designed angle. In this way, the water lm will be continuous covering and no blind corner.

Fully recover and utilize of Efuent, No Discharge

The ash water diverted into FGD system has no effect to FGD system, and further no impact on the quality of gypsum.

Set up behind FGD system, WESP can share Water system and Efuent Treatment system with FGD, and overall reduce water consumption and investment on equipment.

The dust collected by WESP will be ushed by water. The ash water diverts into FGD system as the make-up water. The rest ash water after Chemical dozing and auto lter is as recycled water for WESP and mainly used for ushing of Electrode Plate. .

Structure and Technical Features of WESP - Metal Electrode Plate Automatic Adjustment of Output Power and Make-up Water

According to the signals of Unit Load and Emission concentration, WESP system can automatically adjust Output Power and Make-up Water amount to achieve energy-saving.

Unique Anode Electrode Flushing Technology

Front-end Field Secondary Condensing & Superne Atomizing + Intermittent Top Flushing

The Secondary Condensing & Superne Atomizing (unique technology of Sinonn & DAWOO) always ensure Electrode Plate covering with a 30 µm thickness water lm produced through condensation of saturated Flue Gas. Associated with intermittent ushing, the gypsum or dust

accumulation on Electrode Plate can be prevented, and WESP can be operated stably with high efciency.

Further, Intermittent Top Flushing can again wash Electrode Plate ( Washing cycle is 24-72h)

WESP, either Metal Electrode Plate or .Non-metal

Electrode Plate, requires de-ashing by continuous

water lm. Otherwise, the Efciency of WESP

Notes:

Superiorities of Secondary Condensing & Superne Atomizing + Intermittent Top Flushing

Low Water Consumption, can be make up from FGD Tower and Zero Efuent.

No Efuent Treatment System, Simple Design with High Availability.

Water Film produced during Secondary Condensing can be as self-washing of Electrode Plate, which is much better than that through spraying in Metal Electrode Plate of WESP.

Structure and Technical Features of WESP - Non Metal Electrode Plate Patented Anode Module from Korean DAWOO Corp

Good ConductivityExcellent Flame Resistance – by using re retardant resin. Processing Technology – through Korean hand-made manufacturing technology to ensure the resin content in the Anode Modules and guarantee a service life more than 30 years.

Structure Advantages:

Non-metal Tube Type

There is no steel shell cover outside Anode Module, and further there is no contact between supporting beam and Flue Gas. Hence, even without anti-corrosion system can also run for long time with zero maintenance.

Excellent Sealing Process - resolve the sealing problem between MS and FRP and swelling.

Non-metal Plate Type

The dust collecting plate is equipped with the top hanging device and bottom calibration device, ensuring the accurate space between the electrodes.

The dust collecting plates adopt clamping slot structure, which is convenient for installation and maintenance.

Introduction of Raw Material for Non-metal Anode Plate (Tube)

The raw materials of Sinonn’s Non-metal WESP Anode Plate (Tube) adopt high grade Fire Resistance Epoxy Vinyl Resin, Glass Fiber Mat and Carbon Fiber Surface Mat, etc. These raw materials are hand-made by skilled workers. The resin content in product is more than 65%, enabling an excellent corrosion-resistant performance. The inner surface of plates and tubes is treated with special technology to keep good conductivity. All of modules are inspected and tested in accordance with DAWOO’s strict technical quality standards including raw material procurement, product manufacturing and assembly. Comparing with moulding by hand, CFRP Anode Plate made by Mechanical moulding contains resin less than 28%, and the corrosion-resistance performance is relatively poor, and the service life normally is less than 6 years.

PM2.5:PM 2.5 particles are air pollutants with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers or less, and these ne particles can lodge deeply into the lungs.

According to US EPA ‘s standard denition of PM 2.5,

The lterability PM 2.5: The particles exist in solid form even under temperature of 250F or above. The proportion accounted can be reached to 25%.

The Condensability PM 2.5: The steam condense in the room temperature. For example, So3 in sulfuric acid mist form. The toxic metal pollutants-cadmium, chromium, lead, magnesium and mercury. The proportion accounted for about 75%.

FGD Outlet Flue Gas PM Size Distribution Based on various research, it is found that most of PMs in FGD outlet Flue Gas are ultrane and the diameter is blow 6 µm. Please refer to

graph 1 and 2 for testing results of ve different kinds of coal. Graph 1 is for Accumulative Weight Distribution. From graph 1, it can be seen that about 90% of PM is below 2.5µm and mainly distributed

in the range of 0.6-1.2µm.

Graph 2 is for PM Size Distribution. From graph 2, it can be seen that most PM is ultrane with diameter of 1.2 µm and reaches to 32%. The

PM of 2.5-6 µm is not much.

Functions of WESP Removal of Ultrane PM with High Efciency

The WESP can efciently remove Submicron Particulates, Droplets and even ultrane Particulates with size up to 0.01 microns. The PM Removal Efciency can be above 90%, which can be adjusted by charging different quantity of elds

Removal of So3 Mist Droplet with High Efciency

Because of high concentration of acid fog in the FGD’s wet gas. The opacity of ue gas emitted is quite high which intensies the device corrosion in the downstream and surrounding.The WESP can efciently remove SO3, which exists in the form of H2SO4 in Flue Gas with average diameter below 0.4 µm and belongs to Submicron Particles and can not be removed

by traditional Dry ESP.

Functions of WESP

The Heavy Metal in Flue Gas, mainly Hg, in Flue Gas includes Gas-phrase Elementary Hg, Gas-phrase HgO and Solid Hg Particulate.Based on research of US EPRI, it has been observed that up to 95% of PM2.5 and 50% of HgO can be removed by only set up of one WESP Field after traditional Dry ESP.
