From The Board: Linanne Gaunce

Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce is happy to announce the 2021 Super Raffle will be held on Thursday, September 30, beginning with a social hour at 5 p.m. Proudly spon-sored by Maine State Credit Union, A Night at the Lodge will be a new experience with a new venue, a new sponsor, and a re-

energized format.

The Chamber is excited about the new for-mat for 2021. One of the more notable changes will be the venue – The Elm on Col-lege Avenue, Waterville will host the event, with the bar being managed by The Proper Pig. There will be culinary choices from a dual team at The Parsonage House and Her-itage House, featuring theme-inspired appe-tizers, entrees, and desserts.

Now let’s talk about prizes and winning. How can you win? Everyone that purchases a ticket receives dinner for two and wins a prize! Prizes range from $25 gifts to $500, $750, $1,500, and $3,000 in Cash Prizes. There will be 50/50 (which in years past has exceeded $1,000). There is also a 2nd Chance Cash drawing, sponsored by Choice Wealth Advisors – and yes, you could win twice! This means that if your ticket is pulled before the top prizes are drawn ($500 or more), you are re-entered into a drawing to win $500 in cash.

In learning to pivot in 2020 we got creative, and a Video Sponsorship came to being – sponsored by Central Maine Motors Auto

Group. This means the Chamber will pre-

draw 100 tickets and record the selections for everyone to view during and after the evening. This will help move along the night and allow everyone more time to socialize and network.

The popular Plinko board will return, once again sponsored by New Dimensions Federal Credit Union. During the evening if your number is selected you will be able to play the board and win some of the great prizes Team Teal is supplying. Your ticket goes back into the drawing to qualify for another prize.

Tickets are now on sale for $125 each and can be purchased at the Chamber office. We are also looking for raffle prizes. If you would like to donate an item, please contact Cindy at [email protected] or 873-

3315.

It’s a night to WIN prizes, have a hearty din-ner and socialize. It’s a year of change we are ready to embrace. We can’t wait to see everyone on September 30, for “A Night at the Lodge” – it will be an evening well spent.

Member Spotlight - People’s Salon & Spa

Originally opening as People’s Hair Design back in 1978, owner Billy Dangler set the standard of excellence in hair services in central Maine. Boston trained, but never forgetting his roots, Billy eagerly returned to Maine with big dreams. In 1997 Peo-ple’s Hair Design officially became People’s Salon & Spa with the addition of its spa area comprised of two massage thera-pists, an esthetician and updated pedicure services. The team at People’s Salon continues to excel in continuing education (by zoom or in-person) on new style trends and product knowledge for more eco-friendly professional lines. It remains its goal to offer the best quality services, and its staff is dedicated and passionate about their craft. Like many local businesses, the past year has brought unfore-seeable challenges and changes. Determined to provide a comfortable and safe atmosphere, its team followed the guidelines set forth for the industry diligently. Despite a shut down and Covid regulations, it came back busy, busy, busy! People’s Salon would like to thank its amazing team and cli-ents for their dedication, patience, and support. As it looks ahead to an even brighter future in the ever-

improving landscape of downtown Waterville, it welcomes new members to its salon family.

It has eagerly embraced its expectations of excellence, and it looks forward to seeing them grow and learn from its sea-soned and talented staff members. In keeping with the spirit of the Waterville facelift, it’s been freshening up its space as well. It’s added new stations and will be updating more as the days pass. Stay tuned for more changes as well as some services it’ll be offering in the coming months! (Teasers, teasers, and more teasers)
