Why sit an exam?
Evaluate and certify proficiency of non-native speakers as the official accreditation of the degree of fluency of the Language, issued and recognised by the Ministry of Education of the country
A method for learners to assess and improve their proficiency in the language.
Recruiting students, assigning students to different classes, allowing students to skip certain courses and giving students academic credits.
A reference for employers’ decision-making concerning the recruitment, training and promotion of test takers.

Japanese Language Proficiency Test The JLPT has five levels: N1, N2, N3, N4 and N5. The easiest level is N5 and the most difficult level is N1. N5 and N4 measure the level of understanding of basic
Japanese mainly learned in class. N1 and N2 measure the level of understanding of Japanese
used in a broad range of scenes in actual everyday life. N3 is a bridging level between N1/N2 and N4/N5.
JLPT N5
The ability to understand some basic Japanese. One is able to read and understand typical expressions and
sentences written in hiragana, katakana, and basic kanji. One is able to listen and comprehend conversations about
topics regularly encountered in daily life and classroom situations, and is able to pick up necessary information from short conversations spoken slowly.
JLPT N4
The ability to understand basic Japanese. One is able to read and understand passages on familiar daily
topics written in basic vocabulary and kanji. One is able to listen and comprehend conversations
encountered in daily life and generally follow their contents, provided that they are spoken slowly.
JLPT N3
The ability to understand Japanese used in everyday situations to a certain degree. One is able to read and understand written materials with specific contents concerning
everyday topics.
One is also able to grasp summary information such as newspaper headlines.
In addition, one is also able to read slightly difficult writings encountered in everyday situations and understand the main points of the content if some alternative phrases are available to aid one’s understanding.
One is able to listen and comprehend coherent conversations in everyday situations, spoken at near-natural speed, and is generally able to follow their contents as well as grasp the relationships among the people involved.
JLPT N2
The ability to understand Japanese used in everyday situations, and in a variety of circumstances to a certain degree. One is able to read materials written clearly on a variety of topics, such as
articles and commentaries in newspapers and magazines as well as simple critiques, and comprehend their contents.
One is also able to read written materials on general topics and follow their narratives as well as understand the intent of the writers.
One is able to comprehend orally presented materials such as coherent conversations and news reports, spoken at nearly natural speed in everyday situations as well as in a variety of settings, and is able to follow their ideas and comprehend their contents. One is also able to understand the relationships among the people involved and the essential points of the presented materials.
JLPT N1
The ability to understand Japanese used in a variety of circumstances. One is able to read writings with logical complexity and/or abstract writings
on a variety of topics, such as newspaper editorials and critiques, and comprehend both their structures and contents.
One is also able to read written materials with profound contents on various topics and follow their narratives as well as understand the intent of the writers comprehensively.
One is able to comprehend orally presented materials such as coherent conversations, news reports, and lectures, spoken at natural speed in a broad variety of settings, and is able to follow their ideas and comprehend their contents comprehensively. One is also able to understand the details of the presented materials such as the relationships among the people involved, the logical structures, and the essential points.

CEFRL levels Six levels: A Basic User
A1 Breakthrough or beginner A2 Waystage or elementary

CEFRL A1
Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
CEFRL A2
Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
CEFRL B1
Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
CEFRL B2 Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
CEFRL C1 Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.
CEFRL C2 Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. Can summarise information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations.

DELF Prim Delf prim A1.1, A1, A2 DELF Prim is intended for children who are beginners in French as a Foreign Language DELF Junior/scolaireJunior A1, A2, B1, B2 The junior version of DELF has the same basic structure as the standard DELF. Only the topics are different: the materials take into account the interests of young people.It can only be taken by children of secondary-level age. The structure of the examinations is the same as that of the standard version of DELF. Only the topics and the materials are different: these are adapted for schoolchildren. The qualification awarded is the “DELF”. There is no indication on the certificate of the fact that it was the DELF for schools that was taken.

Chinese HSK
The new HSK is an international standardized exam that tests and rates Chinese language proficiency. It assesses non-native Chinese speakers’ abilities in using the Chinese language in their daily, academic and professional lives.
Chinese HSK writing test
The new HSK consists of a writing test and a speaking test, which are independent of each other. There are six levels of writing tests HSK (level I) can understand and use very simple Chinese phrases, meet basic needs for
communication and possess the ability to further their Chinese language studies. HSK (level II) have an excellent grasp of basic Chinese and can communicate in simple
and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
HSK (level III) can communicate in Chinese at a basic level in their daily, academic and professional lives. They can manage most communication in Chinese when travelling in China.
HSK (level IV) can converse in Chinese on a wide range of topics and are able to communicate fluently with native Chinese speakers.
HSK (level V) can read Chinese newspapers and magazines, enjoy Chinese films and plays, and give a full-length speech in Chinese.
HSK (level VI) can easily comprehend written and spoken information in Chinese and can effectively express themselves in Chinese, both orally and on paper.
Chinese HSK speaking test There are three levels of speaking tests. (During the speaking test, test takers’ speeches will be recorded.) HSK (beginner level) can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and
meet specific needs for communication. Students have mastered about 200 commonly used words.
HSK (intermediate level) can understand intermediate Chinese and converse fluently with native Chinese speakers. Students have mastered about 900 commonly used words.
HSK (advanced level) can understand spoken Chinese and fluently express their ideas in Chinese. Students have mastered about 3,000 common words.

Chinese test for students YCT
The Youth Chinese Test (YCT) is an international Chinese test aimed at for primary and intermediate students learning Chinese as a second language.. There are 4 levels of writing tests: • YCT I: can understand and use some of the most common Chinese
phrases and sentences and possess the ability to further their Chinese language studies
• YCT II can understand and use some simple Chinese phrases and sentences and cope with basic level communications.
• YCT III having reached an excellent level in basic Chinese, can communicate on familiar daily topics in a simple manner.
• YCT IV can communicate in Chinese at a basic level in their daily, academic and professional lives. When travelling in China, they can manage most forms of communication in Chinese.
