Instructional Screencast Task Analysis/Content: Outline and Script for using Animoto

Task Analysis:

1 Double click on the Internet icon on your computer desktop2 Enter the URL www.animoto.com3 There is a video to watch to start off with. So click play button on the sample video.

When video is finished, you need to click on the blue sign up button.4 Sign up for an account with your email address and password5 Then you will click on the blue button that says create video.6 Click on the area where you have the option to choose the length of your video and

choose short/free version.7 Click on create video.8 Choose and upload the images or video option that fits the description of where you will

be retrieving your images or videos.9 The images will populate the boxes that are on your screen. There are tools at the

bottom of the screen that allow you to edit your images. After you have done all you want to do to your images you will click on continue at the bottom of the screen.

10 Next you can download music from your own selection or use Animoto’s selection. 11 Click on play to preview different songs and then you make your decision on which one

you like, you click on select and then click save and continue. 12 Next you will give your video a title and click create video.13 Animoto will produce your video which will take around five to fifteen minutes.14 Once Animoto has finished with producing, your video will appear and you can click

play. You can also post your video on Facebook or email it to others by using the buttons at the top right corner of your screen.

15 You are done! Great job! To continue on you need to submit your video to the space station. After you submit your video you will receive a password that takes you to your next mission. Copy and paste the URL from your video to the submit form on the website using the following steps:

Use your mouse and highlight the URL, then right click and select copy. Go back to induction website countdown www.4aplus.com/dninduction and click on

step 9 for Animoto. Scroll down to the submit form and right click on the form that says Animoto URL and select paste. The URL from your video should show up. You need to fill out the rest of the form and click submit Animoto video.

1 Access the Internet

You will need to get into the Internet using a web browser such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or whatever you prefer to use. I will use Internet Explorer.

2 Type into the web browser

Type in the web browser www.animoto.com and hit enter on your keypad. This will perform the Internet search for your web address that you just entered.

3 The sample video will appear.

You will need to click on the play button and watch the video. When the video is finished, you need to click on the blue sign up button.

4 Sign up for account.

You will need to create an account by using your email address and a password of your choosing.

5 Click on blue button to create video.

Click on blue button to create your video.

6 Click and choose the length of your video.

Click to choose the length of your video and you will need to choose short because this is the free version of Animoto.

7 Click on create video.

Click on create video.

8 Choose your images or video.

Next you will need to retrieve or upload your images or video from your computer or where ever you have your images stored. I am going to select upload from my computer.

9 Your images will then appear in the boxes on the screen.

You can use the tools at the bottom of your screen and make changes to your photos or video. You need to remember the estimated length of your video because with the free version you only have 30 seconds of video. If you have too many images or text some of them may get cut off. Click continue at the bottom of the screen when you are finished editing.

10 Choose to download music.

Click on and select to choose music from you own selection or choose Animoto’s music selection. I will select from our collection.

11 Click on play to hear previews.

When you’ve found the songs that you want to use, you will need to click on select, and then click again on save and continue.

12 Give your video a title and click on create video.

13 Animoto will now It takes approximately 5 to 15 minutes for Animoto to

produce your video.

14 When Animoto is finished producing your video, it will appear and you can click on play.

When Animoto is finished producing your video and it appears on your screen you will then be able to post your video on Facebook or email it to a friend by using the buttons at the top right hand corner of your screen. Animoto will also send you your video by email.

15 You did it! Great job!

Nice work. To continue on you need to submit your video to the space station. Once you have submitted your video you will receive a password that will take you to your next step. You will need to copy and paste the URL from your video to the submit form on the website using the following steps:

A Use your mouse and highlight the URL. Right click and select copy.

B Go back to induction website countdown www.4aplus.com/dninduction and click on step 9 for Animoto. Scroll down to the submit form and right click on the form that says Animoto URL and select paste. The URL from your video should appear. Then you will need to fill out the rest of the form and click submit Animoto video.

16 Exit Click on X in top right hand corner to Exit screen.
