INLAND CONTAINER DEPOT (ICD)

A common user facility with public authority status equipped with requisite infrastructure to handle export import cargo.

Also called as Dry Ports

The basic requirements for setting of an ICD as per Indian Government

norms are

1. Sufficient land / area. 2. Suitable warehousing capability 3. Suitable paved area for safe and easy

movement of trucks and trailers. 4. Requisite office facilities 5. The ICD must have an easy access-

connectivity to the road network.
