1 | Page NRP Online Exam Self-Registration Instructions Information about the NRP Provider course and exam The NRP Provider course is divided into two components: 1) Completion of the Canadian NRP online exam This part focuses on self-learning by completing the required readings from the NRP textbook and the Canadian medications table . To assist you in completing the online exam requirements, please note the following: All 11 lessons are mandatory in the 7 th edition exam. The eSim is optional. The 7 th edition exam is divided into two parts: Part I (lessons 1-5) and Part II (lessons 6-11), with unlimited attempts. Cost of the 7 th edition exam is USD$28.50, and can be paid online using a valid credit card. See your local NRP contact to verify if bulk NRP access codes have been purchased by your facility or health region. The exam must be passed no longer than 30 days before your practical course. You must print off a copy of the certificate and provide it to your Instructor on the day of the course. 2) Completion of a NRP practical course This part of the course is led by a NRP Instructor and focuses on hands-on practical skills and integrates the cognitive, behavioural and technical skills of neonatal resuscitation. Information about the NRP Provider course and exam

The NRP Provider course is divided into two components:

1) Completion of the Canadian NRP online exam

This part focuses on self-learning by completing the required readings from the NRP textbook and the Canadian medications table.

To assist you in completing the online exam requirements, please note the following:

All 11 lessons are mandatory in the 7th edition exam.

The eSim is optional.

Step 1: Accessing the exam Enter the following link in the address bar: www.cps.ca/en/nrp-prn/online-examination and click on “Click here for the NRP online examination.”

Note: The minimum requirements warning message does not apply to the NRP exam.

This will bring you to the exam provider’s (HealthStream) home page.

Step 2: Registering and/or logging into the exam

For first-time users: click “First-time students click here to register” and enter your information to create a profile. Choose the “Self-registration” option The dates under the Institution Information

can be kept to today’s dates.

Note: Write down your User ID and Password; you will need them if you logout of your exam.

For subsequent users: enter your User ID and Password.

Note: If you have forgotten your password, click on the “Forgot your password?” link.

Step 3: Purchasing the exam

Click on the “Catalog” tab.

Click on the exam title of your choice.

Note: The eSim portion of the exam is optional. Before purchasing, please ensure that you’ve selected the correct language AND edition required to complete your course.

Click on the Enroll button.

Enter your payment information.

Once purchased, the exam will appear under the “To-Do” tab.

Step 4: Printing the exam certificate Once the exam has been completed, click on the “Completed” tab.

Click on the Certificate button to retrieve your certificate.

Note: To print your certificate, press the buttons on your keyboard: Print = Ctrl and P Save = Ctrl and S

Step 5: Printing the receipt To print your receipt, click on the arrow pointing downward.

Note: The arrow can be found on the top-right corner of the page, near your account information.

Click on the “Purchase History.”
