PharmacoEconomics & Outcomes News 483 - 30 Jul 2005 The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) has issued an update of its 2004 recommendations regarding influenza vaccination and use of antiviral agents. ACIP recommends vaccination of all individuals with any condition that could compromise respiratory function, as well as all healthcare workers. In addition, the recommendations clarify the role of live, attenuated influenza virus vaccine during periods when inactivated influenza vaccine is in short supply.
