HOLIDAY HOMEWORK - 2018-19
CLASS VI-VIII
The long awaited summer holidays are here again! Summer vacations are a fun time to be spent with family and friends. With a little ingenuity and planning, the summer can be transformed into a time to stretch the mind, explore new hobbies, learn about responsibility and build on skills learned during the school year.
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
Write your Name, Roll Number, Class and Section in your holiday home work.
Date of Submission of Holiday Homework: 05.08.2018.
Holiday homework will be available on school website (www.indianschoolsohar.com)
Revise the lessons taught for the First Term Examination.
Office time during summer vacation (06.06.18 to 29.07.18) : 8.30am to 1.00 pm
GENERAL HOMEWORK Reading keeps your brain active; it makes you knowledgeable and organized and teaches you
many new words. Let newspaper reading be an integral part of your mornings. Try to increase your "general awareness” through newspaper reading.
Maintain a special summer scrapbook or journal to chronicle your adventures. Write and draw in it to your heart’s content! Or write a travelogue. You can choose to share them when you come back after vacation.
Lend a helping hand to your parents and grandparents. Belong to your home and contribute to household chores, set the table, fill up the empty bottles, water the plants etc.
Limit screen time to only two hours a day .Learn new skills, have fun, play and develop self-confidence by spending time in the garden tending plants and growing your own food.
Subject enrichment activities (SEA) have been uploaded on the school website. Go through the details provided. These activities carrying 5 marks will be conducted in August.
HOLIDAY HOMEWORK English Read a book of any one of the following authors:
1. Ruskin Bond 2.Enid Blyton 3.R.K.Narayan 4.Oscar Wilde. Write the name of the book and the author. Write about any two of the following in a paragraph of about 50-60 words: 1.Plot 2. Theme 3. Values 4 . Two main characters
Hindi: Read one self- selected book in Hindi. Share the story and the value learned in the class. Mathematics: Download the worksheet from the school website and complete the given
worksheet in ruled sheets. Arabic/Malayalam/Sanskrit: Download the worksheet from the school website and complete
the given worksheet. Exhibition: Imagine and conceptualize some model for the Exhibition. Necessary material can
