MISSION STATEMENT

Bureau of Indian Affairs:

The mission of the Bureau of Indian Affairs

(BIA) is to enhance the quality promote

responsibility of protecting and improving

the trust assets of American Indians, Indian

Tribes, and Alaskan Natives; and foster

relationships with Indian Tribal governments

in the spirit of Indian Self-Determination.

MISSION STATEMENT

BIA – Division of Transportation: The mission of the Division of Transportation is

to provide staff support to the Deputy Regional

Director – Indian Services for achieving the

BIA’s Mission by economically and effectively

managing the Bureau’s road construction and

maintenance programs, and providing transport-

ation related technical assistance and services to

Agency Offices and Tribal governments within

the jurisdiction of the Western Regional Office.
