Incoming Students
General Information about Cyprus University of Technology
Cyprus University of Technology, C.U.T, was established by law in December 2003 and
admitted its first students in September 2007. It is a new, public and independent university,
which aspires to develop itself into a modern pioneering University, able to offer education
and high level research in leading branches of science and technology.
There are five faculties currently at C.U.T, offering graduate and postgraduate degrees. The
Faculty of Applied Arts and Communication, the Faculty of Economics and Management, the
Faculty of Engineering and Technology , the Faculty of Geotechnical Sciences and
Environmental management and the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Cyprus University of Technology is placed in the heart of Limassol, the second largest city in
Cyprus that enjoys mild winters and colorful, warm summers. Limassol is a lively, attractive,
touristic resort that enjoys the visiting of thousands of tourists all year long, with summer
being the peak period.
Erasmus Incoming Students Year 2012-2013
For Students coming to CUT to undertake an Erasmus exchange study period, the following
documents must be submitted to the Erasmus contact person at Cyprus University of
Technology, prior to arrival:
• Application Form for Incoming Students
• Student Registration Form
• Two copies signed and stamped of the Learning Agreement
• Official Transcript of Records in English.
• Copy of Identity and Passport.
• Copy of European Health Card.
• Letter from sending Institution, stating your eligibility for participation. ( No Student
will be accepted without the pre-existing Bilateral Agreement between CUT and
his/her Home Institution)
• Evidence of good knowledge of the English Language, at least level B1, or 6.5 IELTS
score
• Application form for participation to the EILC Language Courses taking place during
the month of August for the whole month ( to be uploaded soon)
EILC at Cyprus University of Technology:
Greek Language Course for Incoming Erasmus Students
The Erasmus office of Cyprus University of Technology in cooperation with the Language
Centre of CUT give students from all EU/EEA countries the opportunity to participate in the
Erasmus Intensive Language Course of Greek language and culture once more this summer,
for the fourth consecutive year.
The EILC course of Greek Language is a great opportunity for students who would like to
enjoy four weeks in Cyprus while learning the Greek language and exploring the island’s rich
cultural heritage. The host town, Limassol, is well known for its historical sights, beautiful
sea-sides, as well as its entertaining events and places to visit, while the host University,
Cyprus University of Technology is well equipped with experienced Language Staff and latest
equipment to support the
learning part of the course.
EILC for Greek will take
place from 6th until 31st of
August 2012. Students are
expected to arrive between
the 3rd -5th of August.
Successful participation and
completion of the course
will benefit the students with 5 ECTS credits. All applicants are kindly requested to submit
the relevant EILC application form before 15/6/2012 to Ms. Stavroulla Antoniou (Erasmus
Officer) at [email protected]. Final selection results will be announced on 22/6/2012, once
decisions are taken by the CY National Agency LLP.

Housing:
For Erasmus students requiring an accommodation offer, kindly contact the Erasmus Officer,
Mrs. Stavroulla Antoniou at [email protected]. We will correspond to your needs taking into
consideration available opportunities that our Housing Office at CUT provides.
Kindly note that accommodation prices in Limassol range form 230-300 Euro monthly
excluding electricity and water, in shared apartments.
Electricity is quite expensive in Cyprus, therefore students are advised not to leave the
heating/cooling ventilators operating when they are not in their lodge or for long hours.
Closing Date for Applications:
For students coming in the Fall semester of 2012, closing date is May 30th 2012.
For students coming in the Spring semester of 2013, closing date is November 30th 2012.

Confirmation of Acceptance:
Once your application has been approved, by the Erasmus Academic Coordinator of the
respective Department, here at CUT, you will receive a letter confirming your acceptance at
Cyprus University of Technology.
You must bring this letter with you when you come to Cyprus to commence your studies. If,
for some reason, you are unable to accept your place at Cyprus University of Technology
please contact the Erasmus Officer as soon as possible.
Courses at CUT:
In preparing for studies at Cyprus University of Technology within the framework of a
LLP/Erasmus Bilateral agreement, students should know the following:
Courses at Cyprus University of Technology are taught in Greek with the exception of our top
class Master of Science in Environmental Health in cooperation with Harvard School of Public
Health.
However, there are special arrangements for LLP/Erasmus students, with the cooperation of
the academic community, so that students may carry out exams or projects via the medium
of the English language. Concerning courses to be followed at CUT, Erasmus students are
advised to contact the Erasmus Departmental Coordinators (to be found on Erasmus Data
Sheet)
The Department of Communication and Internet Studies offers an English Speaking semester
of 30 ECTS only during Spring.
Before arrival to Cyprus:
We advise students to notify the Erasmus office concerning their flight schedule at least a
week before their coming, so that we may be able to offer help once students have arrived at
Larnaca or Paphos airport.
Kindly note that entering Cyprus from the North, is considered illegal. The only legal entries
of the Republic of Cyprus, are Larnaca and Paphos airports and Limassol Port.

Erasmus Student Network
The Erasmus office works in close cooperation with Erasmus Student Association Cyprus, as
part of the Erasmus Student Network. ESA offers its valuable advice and assistance to all
incoming Erasmus students prior to their arrival and during their staying, and organizes all
year long educational trips, movie nights, meetings, parties, even carnival parades for all

Student Restaurant:
Our university offers two meals per day (lunch and supper) at the Panorama Student
Restaurant. Erasmus students can take advantage of the Students’ restaurant, which is open
during the academic year, on weekdays (Monday to Friday).
Apart form Panorama Student Restaurant students can enjoy the Zappeion Student Caffe –
Bar.

The University’s Sports Centre, is open to students and staff and operates following our
academic calendar. All Erasmus students have the opportunity to exercise and take part in
various sports such as aerobics, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, handball, football, and
