football

I started playing football in February 2013 in Tofte Fremad. When I was in Sudan I did

not like football but I came to Norway and started to play football. and now I like it very

mach, but at first I was afraid of football.

I started to play football because i thought it is fun. I like everything about football , for

example i like scoring goals ant that we win most of the time. In my team there are

ca.20 girls players. It is very nice to play with them. They are very funny and kind, and

most of them live in Tofte and Filtvet. I think football has changed my life because I

never played football in Sudan. Also, l I met a lot of friends when i started to play

football, and I found a sport that changed my life and it makes me happy. I think I will

continue playing. I Like FC Barcelona team and Messi and Neymar.

WEGAHTA, 8th grade THAILAND My trip to Thailand 2013. I went to Thailand with 12 people during my autumn holiday. We went to a place called Cha-am, located just 20 minutes from Huahin. Cha-am is a typical place for Thai people to travel to. The locals say that there are very few tourists there. This is the second time I`ve been there. The first time was probably the best because it was sunny every day. This time was worse it rained almost every day and my dad broke a rib. My uncle took him to hospital where he had to stay for 5-6 days. He was lucky to get back to Norway when we were going back. But apart from that, as it was an amazing trip that I will remember for a long time.

Minecraft Minecraft is probably the best game I have ever played.

Minecraft is all about building stuff.

The way you start is that you spawn in a random biome and you need to survive. The first thing you do is to punch down a tree and make yourself

some planks which you use to you build a shelter. You need to build it before night comes. If you don't, you will get killed by Mobs.

When the day comes again you make yourself a wooden pickaxe and go mining. You will find stone everywhere to make a stone pickaxe. And this is

how it goes on, and the longer you play, the bigger house you build and the more you can do.

For example, if you mix water and lava you get obsidian. But you need a diamond pickaxe to pick it up and diamonds are extremely rare. When you have 16 obsidians you can build a portal to hell

where you can get glowstone that looks awesome and lights up your home.

Eventually you will get tired of playing and then you can join a multiplayer server with 3 friends and you make a

faction and then you build, mine and fight mobs together. You will get tired of that as well after a very long time and

then you can play mini games which are small user created games like SCB (super craft brothers). In this game you pick a class

and then you fight other players.

If you get bored of that as well, you can play with redstone and make contraptions and machines like awesome doors, hidden entries and self-

harvesting farms. That is just a few that I am mentioning but people have also made gigantic self-building cities.

To sum up, Minecraft is amazing and you will never get tired of it.

It also is fantastic fun to play with friends. I only see one downside: it is extremely addictive.

iPhone iPhone is designed by Apple in California and it is produced in China. Most people have a white iPhone, and everyone I have spoken to has an iphone 5. The majority of the people I have interviewed use Instagram and facebook on it. When I asked my classmates how many people had bought the Iphone with their own money, only one out of five said yes. Most people have had the iPhone for between 3 and12 months, and they say that they like it because they can do very much on the phone, and they think

it is the best phone they’ve ever had.

In my opinion it is the best phone because you can search for everything on google. It takes very good pictures and finds the directions on the map. And you can also look at a compass and listen to music or the radio on it. You can use a stopwatch, calculator or look at the calendar. Everybody I asked has a cover on the phone, because they want to protect it and they like to have the cover on. I interviewed 5 people in my class, 4 girls and 1 boy. ALEXANDRA, 8th grade

Making movies

“It’s not what they can do for me, but what can I do for the film.”

I am going to write about what it is like to make movies. That is one of my biggest hobbies. First, I am going to show and write about what I am doing while I am making a movie. Then comes and interview with some famous film editors. Making a movie: The first thing you have to do when you are going to make a movie, you need a plan and some stuff; you need: A camera, pc/mac, an editing program and you need to know how to use all the things. It is wise to have some other things too, like friends, camera tripod, some extra light, a microphone and other things that are good to have for a movie you are going to make.

When you make your first movie, I’m sure you will give up when you see for

the first time what the program looks like.. cause that was actually what I did. But I have a piece of advice for you! Look for videos on youtube that will teach you how to use the program you have. Then, you have to start with something easy, and get to know the program better. You will figure out that you get better and better and can do more great stuff every time you are

making a movie! Then, when you have made a lot of movies, I’m sure you are

going to think “wow, this is a lot easier than I first thought” because it is! But

you need to spend a lot of time making movies, don’t think about just to

getting a finished movie. Good movies is the ones you have spent a loot of time on. When you have done it a lot of times and know how to edit and put

together a movie, you can say that you “have the skills”.

I think that one of the most fun things about making a movie is to see what

the movie looks like when you’re finished. AND – just saying! – DON’T

publish the film WITHOUT looking at it first. Because I am sure you will find something to change. Just publish it when you are SURE it is done!

I can’t tell you HOW to edit a movie, because it depends on the program..

I asked them just a few questions:

- What do you need to become a succesful film editor? William: Attitude is everything for me. I would say is that if you have a great attitude and can work a fourteen-hour days with a smile on your face and you

can treat people well, that’s key.

Thelma: My advice to you is to cut as much as possible. Remember that the key to success is attitude and perseverance. Alan: You have to have the skills, but you also have to be a positive and hard

working man or woman. It doesn’t happen without all those skills. You have to

understand, as an editor, it’s the director’s movie and you’re trying to help

them make the best movie. - How long does it take to edit a movie? - William: That depends on the job. Movies like The Matrix or Harry

Potter takes months of editing, while youtube-videoes can take one or two days.
