Who We Are

IDEX Optics & Photonics Korea specializes in the design and manufacture of high performance optical products. We provide a large offering of standard and custom items, especially with high-tech precision optics components.

• 1981 Founded on November 7, 1981 as Korea Electro-Optics Co., Ltd, a unit of CVI

• 1985 Established R&D center

• 1999 Started business with Samsung and LG Electronics

• 2000 Established second factory

• 2005 Developed optical components including antiaircraft gun and tank

• 2007 Started mass production of thermal periscope optical components for tank and IFV

CVI acquired Melles Griot

• 2008 Authenticated ‘New Excellent Technology’ by South Korean government

• 2011 Became a unit of IDEX as CVI Melles Griot incorporated into IDEX Corporation
