1 ISSUE #11: FALL 2013
IDEAS
[Date]
Taking ownership beyond your learning
As we embark on the new semester, the enthusiasm for learning is palpable. In the IDEAS Room, I have enjoyed talking to students as they are on their way to their first classes of the semester. This school year, the IDEAS Room challenges students to think about the learning possibilities that are available beyond the four walls of the classroom via social networking and the web. The IDEAS Room will continue to model how social networking tools such as Twitter, Facebook, Diigo, and our newly created Pinterest page can be used for professional learning. Please like and follow us on these sites to experience the resources that are available at your fingertips. Then, consider how YOU can use these sites to engage your clients, patrons, students, parents, etc. in a larger learning community in which you can communicate with and empower your audience. Have a great Fall Semester!

GAGA
IS BACK
GAGA is an informational teaching session on educational technologies that can be used in the classroom. -GAGA has changed a bit for the fall. We will still be presenting our monthly training sessions in the IDEAS ROOM at the Mediascape Table. However, we want to introduce you to our new follow-up sessions. -The week after GAGA we will host a Show and Share Roundtable session to discuss “HOW TO USE THE TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM?” This will allow students and faculty to discuss the P-12+ applications and implications of the tech tool that was shared at GAGA the week before.
These sessions will be held in the IDEAS Room on: Wednesday, September 18th @ 10am & Thursday, September 19th @ 5pm
THE APP SPOT: Too Noisy
This app is great for the classroom. It helps monitor student’s noise levels and draws their attention when the whole class is becoming a little “too noisy.” This could be great for any room to help with classroom behavior. Check it out and try it in your room.
