Mission Statement

2 ICOI Winter Symposium

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

Understand the treatment of adolescents/children with dental implants; understand thecomplexities of treating the atrophic maxilla; appreciate the diagnostic and treatmentdevelopment value of interactive computed tomography (CT), from identifying existing anatomyto planning bone regeneration, implant placement, as well as designing the final prosthesis;evaluate the current concepts in bone regeneration and soft tissue management; identify idealsituations for immediate implant placement and/or immediate implant loading; and recognize thekey factors in the management of all of these conditions for maximum esthetic success.

For a complete description of all course objectives, please refer to our website underOrlando Symposium.

Dear Colleagues,

Treatment of the atrophic maxilla is one of the biggest challenges in the field ofimplant dentistry. Rehabilitative concerns include hard and soft tissue sitedevelopment, specificity in timing of implant and prosthesis placement, all withconsideration of producing an esthetic result. This conference will analyze the multi-faceted treatment options and state-of-the-art tools available today to augment bothour surgical and prosthetic outcomes. Attendees will develop an understanding of thescience behind ”the latest innovations in esthetics, bone regeneration techniques and3-D planning.”

With the scope of implant dentistry broadening into orthodontics, treatment foryounger individuals is becoming more prevalent. A session of the conference will bededicated to a consensus forum to create guidelines and give participants anappreciation of adolescent /child care with dental implants.

It is our honor to have an international panel of highly acclaimed speakers, all with anobjective of presenting ground-breaking techniques, rooted in science. Using a diverseset of approaches, their collective goal will be to facilitate achieving implant surgical, prosthetic, and esthetic success.

With over 60 exhibitors, we invite you to immerse yourself in the magic of Orlandoand see what the future of implant dentistry holds!

Sincerely,

Dr. Scott Ganz, Dr. Robert Kakos, Dr. Jack Krauser and Dr. Natalie Wong

Dr. Arun K. Garg*Block Grafting Tissue Bank Bone for Ridge Width and Height

Allografts have been used for years as viable alternatives to autogenous grafts. Theyeliminate many of the disadvantages associated with autogenous grafts, including morbidity, limited volume and dimension of bone, IV sedation, and harvesting time. This half-daycomprehensive program will be covering how allogeneic tissues from a tissue bank and in a block configuration are acquired, processed, and clinically utilized to maximize outcomes /benefits, step-by-step techniques to increase ridge height and width predictably, instrumen-tation, and associated fees. Learn these exciting techniques which are changing the way implant dentistry and related bone grafting is currently being performed and willincreasingly be practiced and performed in the near future. This program will be conductedwith lectures, and a Hands-on Workshop on a take home model. Additionally, this programwill serve as a certification program for Puros Block graft training.

Dr. Ady Palti, Dr. Barry Bartee and Dr. Robert Horowitz*New Standards for Bone Regeneration before Implant Placement

The loss of alveolar bone volume can prevent or delay the placement of dental implants orrequire extra procedures to regain the tissues necessary for ideal implant placement. Forexample, if no site preservation/augmentation is performed when a tooth is extracted, thesocket will collapse which can lead to the need for a bone grafting procedure. Newtechniques and surgical materials have advantages for grafting depending on the types ofdefects being treated. Recent clinical studies and patient concerns about the safety ofmaterials have put additional importance on assessing surgical techniques and bone graftingoptions. A variety of materials currently used for bone grafting at the time of extraction willbe demonstrated with clinical, radiographic and histological results. Critical analysis willshow their predictability and efficacy for bone formation in this crucial area.

Dr. Donald Callan*Surgical Solutions for Restorative Problems

Restorative dentistry depends on adequate hard and soft tissuesupport for esthetics, function and longevity of any restoration. When teeth are lost, the socket is not replaced with bone, resulting in a hard and soft tissuedefect. Hard and soft tissue regeneration procedures are to correct these defects to provideproper alveolar ridge form, width and height. The improved alveolar bone support willenhance the esthetics, function, longevity, and the predictability for existing or future fixed, removable prostheses and dental implants. The bone regeneration procedures, in all areas, will also increase the amount of surface area for supporting removable prostheses.

In the past, hard and soft grafting procedures were complex, time consuming and costly for the dentist thus, limiting the profit margin for the practice. With today’s simple surgicalprocedures, better grafting materials, and improved implant designs the modern daydentists are now meeting and providing the requests and needs of all patients. Today, implant procedures and bone grafting are routine as basic restorative dentistry. In this age of cosmetic dentistry, patients are defining restorative procedures and implant success as an esthetic tooth replacement, natural function, reasonable longevity, and a healthyenvironment that can be maintained with routine oral hygiene.

The purpose of this program is to acquaint the clinician with various grafting materials and techniques for the enhancement esthetics and function of conventional and implantdentistry through tissue regeneration procedures for the general practice.

The 7 Keys that Put More and Larger Sized Implant Cases into any Practice and PredictableProsthetics for Complex Cases Resulting from Implant Specific Marketing

This course reveals the 7 keys that every practice wishing to attract the largest and mostcomplex implant cases must have in order to enjoy the routine generation of these cases. These critical keys increase case numbers, case size and the success rate of cases moving totreatment while minimizing wasted time and resources in the practice’s marketing systems.Employing these keys result in the more routine attraction of patients requiring complexwhole-mouth prosthetics therefore the prosthetic portion of the course will illustrate newand novel ways to maximize the clinician’s time efficiency, to reduce operator stress and tolower costs associated with whole mouth implant prosthetics resulting from successfulimplant specific marketing.
