Who  am  I?  Rebecca  John,  19  years  old  IBML  French,  2nd  year    

What  have  I  done?  Hip  Hop  Captain  of  Aston  Dance  Society  Secretary  of  Aston  Business  Psych  Society  UG  of  Steering  Union  Build  Move  International  and  Domestic  (Promo)  Auntie  Student  Council  Rep    

Why  should  you  vote  for  me?  I  am  a  hard  working,  motivated  and  organised  individual  that  isn’t  afraid  to  stand  for  my  beliefs  and  what  I  think  is  right.  I  like  to  get  involved  in  the  union  and  I  am  passionate  about  making  sure  the  entire  student  body  is  welcome  and  engaged  with  the  SU.    

What  I  aim  to  achieve  -­‐  Make  sure  students  know  about  the  services  available  to  them  via  the  university  e.g.  guest  lectures  -­‐  Be  a  friendly  contact  for  anyone  who  needs/wants  help  getting  involved  with  university  life  -­‐  Listen  to  anything  students  may  have  to  say  about  how  the  union  can  be  improved

Name: Pradeep Jerome

Course: Chemical Engineering

I as a Student Engagement Officer (SEO), would have the task of

integrating, us as a student body, into the union. This includes, amongst

others, the different types of students: on campus, off campus, full time,

part time, overseas and home.

Aims:

Improving communication systems between the union, university

and us, as the students

Holding more social and sporting events

Improving facilities available to us

Working to improve the student experience as a whole

Skills:

I am an effective communicator who will make sure our views, as

students, are heard

I’m confident and won’t hold back, or shy away, from my

responsibility as SEO

I’m approachable and very sociable. A people person.

Experience:

CEAC society Vice President and Lead Events host. I have hosted

every single event to date from meet greet to pub quizzes. Very

comfortable speaking publicly and engaging with a large crowd.

Student Peer Mentoring Coordinator. Leading and organizing

mentoring sessions involving first and second year engineers.

Who am I?

My name is Shauna, I am a first/final year

MSc student studying Organisational

Behaviour and I am running for the position of

Postgraduate Students’ Officer. I am currently

a Student Rep for my program. I am pursuing

my MSc. after a few years break where I

taught high school. I am, insofar as is

possible, all about how I can contribute

positively to my community. Which brings me

to.....

Why should YOU vote for ME?

I am interested in you and how I can serve

you. I am enthusiastic, passionate and I am

open to new perspectives. I am friendly and I

enjoy interacting with people and I believe I

am easy to approach. I am confident that I will

be an impartial representative of you.

What do I want to do?

I want to engage with you and help bring your

visions of a better Aston, to fruition. I am

committed to getting postgraduate students

more involved in the union and finding out

how the union can better serve the needs of

postgraduate students. I also want to not only

increase, but diversify the social activities of

the union.
