HERB DRYING RACK Want to preserve garden-grown herbs so you can enjoy them all the way into winter and beyond? This homemade hanging herb drying rack will air-dry them beautifully in your kitchen. All you need are a few items that can be purchased at your local craft store. I My Garden 1.2.3 Done! from 1. Collect your herbs into small bundles. Wrap the ends in twine. Create a loop with the twine for hanging the herbs. Measure the distance from the point on the ceiling where you will hang the rack to the height at which you’d like it to stay. Add two extra inches. Cut each of three pieces of string to this length, and tie one end of each at three equidistant points on the hoop. Gather the opposite ends of string and tie into a knot to hang from the ceiling.
