NYS Kinship Navigator Program & Interactive Planning

Presentations and information from the nationally acclaimed NYS Kinship Navigator Program and their collaborative effort in serving kinship families with Cornell Cooperative Extensions of Orange, Ulster and Dutchess Counties. Interactive activities designed to increase familiarity with the needs and strengths of kinship families while promoting collaboration as well as local planning throughout the three counties.

Caregiver Stories

Caregiver stories presented by grandparents, relatives, and other non-parent caregivers as well as the by children in their care.

Goal of the Summit: Inform key decision makers, improve community collaboration, and create a systems response that allows kinship caregivers and children in their care to thrive in their new households.

Who Should Attend: Helping professionals, educators, child and family specialists, youth and aging advocates, kinship caregivers, and mental health practitioners.

Cost: The Summit is free and lunch will be provided at no cost for attendees.

Summit Highlights Include:

Mary Sise, LCSW, DCEP and Author

A Keynote Presentation from speaker, teacher, counselor, and author Mary Sise, LCSW & DCEP, known for her pioneering work in the treatment of trauma. Her warm, witty, and authentic approach in combination with use of alternative treatment methods will make for a stimulating discussion of kinship family needs.
