Challenges During Implementation
Challenge
This being the world’s first implementation of
this New module, no training was available
Initial product had bugs and some missing
functionalities
Large number of users base across 8 countries
to be trained
Statutory reporting requirements to be met for
European Region
Mitigation
Available training material from Oracle support
site was used
About 49 issues were identified and reported to
Oracle as SRs. Oracle addressed all major issues
promptly
Super users were identified from each country
and they arranged online training with local end
users
Reporting requirements were handled manually
until OVR will be implemented

Challenge # 1 Defaulting Information in Speed
Incident Entry
Business Requirement: Default values for
Company and Business Unit from the user
who is reporting the incident
Issue: More time is required if the user
has to manually enter the information
which is readily available within JDE like
Business Unit and Company.
The application should be able to
automatically default the available
information.
Solution: A enhancement was requested
to Oracle so that the information like
Business Unit and Company is defaulted
from Employee Master. The enhancement
was made available by Oracle in-time
before the Go-Live.
Challenge # 2 Person ID & Name of Victim to be
Kept Confidential
Business Requirement: Employee ID (Person
ID) and the name of victim needs to be
confidential as per the European Union Laws
Issue: Name of the person can be marked as
a “Privacy Case” and it is not visible in OSHA
reports. However, this only hides the persons
name in the OSHA reports and One View
reports but not in P54HS00 (Incident Master)
while Inquiring. We need to hide the victims
identity to comply to the statuary
requirements from EU Laws.
Solution: Oracle provided an option such
that the victims identity can be kept
confidential from other users and can be
viewed only by authorized HSI personal.
Oracle added a processing option to P54HS00
(Incident Master).
Challenge # 3 Location Specific Email
Notifications
Business Requirement: Need to send
notifications to group of users based on
the location of Incident
Issue: Incident Master is only capable of
sending emails based on the processing
options of P54HS00. Client wants to notify
specific personnel from HSE group where
the incident took place. Since client has
about 100+ groups across 8 countries,
creating different version of P54HS00 was
not feasible.
Solution: A enhancement was developed
and made available in time before Go-
Live. The solution was discussed with
Oracle for incorporation as standard
feature.
Major Challenges During Implementation
