Method 1. Open Bonnet. 2. Remove Phillips screw as located below, this hold the top of the side light in place. 3. The bottom of the light is held in with ball and socket arrangement and in my experience is always tight and a pain to separate. I normally do this by sliding a long flat blade screw driver down the back of the light and with the use of a piece of foam or sponge to protect bodywork lever the light forwards, this often requires a bit of force but be careful to break the top bracket.

10mm Socket, Ratchet and extension Medium sized Phillips screw driver Long flat blade screw driver Piece of foam or sponge.

Method

4. Once you have separated the ball and socket, you can pull the side light forward to expose the loom connection, disconnect and remove the light.

5. The main headlight unit is held in by 3 M10 bolts and 1 M10 flanged nut located as seen below. Undo these and put in a safe place, I use a magnetic dish on the suspension turret.

6. To remove the headlight you have to pull the grill side forwards first and then slide the wing side towards the grill while pulling forward. Be careful not to scratch the paintwork; also don’t pull to hard as the loom is still connected.

7. While supporting the light with one hand disconnect the 2 loom connections.

8. Set Headlight somewhere safe and repeat for other side of car if required. This shouldn’t take longer than about 10 minutes to remove both lights, which makes it the easiest and quickest way to change bulbs, especially the driver’s side.
