Who are these ‘likers’?

According to Facebook:‘ People who click the Facebook Like button are more engaged,

active and connected than the average Facebook user. The average “liker” has 2.4x the amount of friends than that of a typical Facebook user. They are also more interested in exploring content they discover on Facebook -- they click on 5.3x more links to external sites than the typical Facebook user.’

Confused?? It is not all that complicated Facebook likers are people who tend to be more informed,

interested in knowing about stuff and willing to increase their social circle. Businesses exploit this behavior of users for their benefit.

Reasons behind liking a page

• Curiosity and guilt• Discounted offer• Contests and more contests• Your friends forced you to• Local relevance of the page• Interesting epic content• News distribution• For social causes• Likeable brand or personality

How to get more likes/comments on facebook

• Humorous Content- Everyone likes humorous content whether it is joke ,cartoon or any funny scripts

• Content beneficial for others.-job postings , beneficial trainings and certifications etc. relevant for others draws attention

• New catchy songs/videos- All new songs/videos which have gone viral is primarily due to sharing on facebook- Anything which draws your attention can be entertaining for other also- Tells you about others preference

• Appropriate Timings– posting in morning or late evening when all friends use facebook– Content should be visible to intended ones.

• Small and crisp messages- Avoid long stories and boring messages which draws away attention

How to get more likes/comments on Facebook

• Greetings on festivals- All like to greet each other on festivals. Facebook nice way to greet

• Continuous replying to the comments-when someone responds to your content ,do reply back. Creates interest and long chains

• Asking feedback from others- You can ask feedback about product or services from others .- People will respond whatever they know or feels about it.

• Run a contest or poll– Poll related to friends areas of interest always draws attention

Ways to grow your fan following (likes) on Facebook

• Connect with other page managers- Live connection with other admins to cross promote similar interests

• Share original content-Content is still king. Screen shots, hot tips, behind the scene activities

• Link Your Profile to Your Page- Ask your friend to like you page. Post about your page from your personal profile. - Always tag your page while posting.- Make sure you add you page to your business and education on your profile.

• Add Facebook in Your Email Signature– Include your business in the signature. QR code in business cards.

• Advertise your page – Advertise the page to friends of your current fans. Show the names of these friends who

like the page in your ad. Example: Zovi, Shopnineteen

want with your audience. Also allows marketing potential where you can post in the wall of users who are using a particular Facebook App.

• Suggest your page to friends- Use the “suggest to friends” feature of your page.

• Get business cards promoting your Facebook page- Post the link on your card, people will most certainly check it out
