HOW DO YOU DO IT? September 2014 Client Newsletter Term 3 Do you know how you learn best? It is an interesting concept that was the opening presentation at the recent NZSCTA Conference last week. The concept VARK is well known in teaching circles. For those who are not familiar with this concept it stands for Visual, Auditory, Reader/writer and Kinesthetic. The idea is that these are the four main areas in which we as humans learn. Visual - our preferred learning style is through pictures, movies, and demonstration. Auditory - we prefer to listen, or be given instructions Reader/writer - prefer to have notes, they like power point presentations, and instructions on paper. Kinesthetic - these guys just like to get on and do it. They are fans of trial and error. So which learner do you think you are? Or how do you think your child or children learn best? Take the questionnaire, and it will estimate your preferred learning style on the answers you have given! THANKS Uncle Toby’s Cheerio’s for our free give a ways! All our swimmers who have taken them are very grateful. Mini Boxes have been given away at all 4 sites. Ask at reception to see if we have any spare to give next week, there may be some left overs J

LASER PERFORMING WHERE IT MATTERS

CHEERIO’S GIVE AWAY!

Congratulations to Laser Mt Eden on their recent performance at National Age Groups. All swimmers swam well; a lot of PB’s were made. Special mention to Ikko Shibuya- winning 6 gold medals. We at DGSS are proud supporters of LME. As a swim school we feel it is vital to have a pathway for all our swimmers to follow whether they chose to swim for fitness or take a more competitive route. Once again Congratulations on all your hard work!
