•He was born May 1, 1901 in Washington D.C.•He attended Williams College and transferred to Harvard University. •Sterling Brown is thought to be the creator of African American studies and literature.

Duke Ellington

•Born April 29, 1899 in Washington D.C.•He was a song writer, conductor, and pianist.•Duke was a major figure in jazz music during the Harlem Renaissance.

Stevie Wonder

•He was born May 13, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan.•He is a songwriter, pianist, and singer. •His music style is very similar to Duke Ellington.
