Aldi Regional Distribution Centre

Having already secured planning approvals for a number of new Aldi stores throughout the North West, Manchester based HOW Planning has submitted a planning application for the development of major new Regional Distribution Centre for the leading retailer. The 55,000 sq m scheme will form a landmark development at the proposed ‘Logistics North’ site in Bolton and the application will be submitted alongside plans for an Employment Park and Country Park on the wider Logistics North site which is to be submitted separately by Harworth Estates. Aldi will be the first occupant at Logistics North and it is expected that the proposals will support Aldi’s intensions for regional growth. Details The proposed development will assist with the transformation of the Logistics North site, providing stable job creation and a modern complex and quality design set within a sensitive landscape. Based on Aldi’s existing Regional Distribution Centres, located throughout the UK, the new development will support approximately 400 local jobs initially to serve 84 stores, with the number of stores and job opportunities increasing in the medium to long term.
