Other items you can discard at Household Hazardous Waste Events: Fluorescent Tubes/Compact Fluorescent Bulbs Wrap fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent bulbs in a cardboard box, or wrap them in newspaper. Do not tape them together. Limit of 10 tubes/bulbs per vehicle, per event day. Bring us your tires All tires, on or off the rim. Electronic Equipment Computers, photocopiers, DVD players, electric calculators, fax machines, monitors, telephones, TVs, VCRs and cameras. Items Not Accepted: Air conditioners, appliances, dehumidifiers, electric motors, microwaves, power tools, white goods (refrigerators, freezers, etc.). Yard Waste Collection Spring/Summer: April 1 to September 27 Maximum 10 bags/containers of yard waste per week, beyond the 5-bag weekly garbage limit Fall: September 30 to November 29 Maximum 30 bags/containers of yard waste per week, beyond the 5-bag weekly garbage limit Yard waste in plastic bags will not be collected Use kraft paper bags or open, rigid-walled containers for grass clippings, leaves, weeds and plants. Yard waste can be put out on regularly scheduled collection days with garbage and blue box materials. Prepare brush in bundles no larger than 1.2m (4 feet) in length and 0.9m (3 feet) in diameter. All branches must be less than 0.1m (4 inches) in diameter. One bundle of brush counts as one bag of yard waste. Compost Bins Backyard composters are now available, for BRANTFORD RESIDENTS ONLY, at the Mohawk Street Landfill Site, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for $20. Christmas Tree Collection: January 6 -17, 2020 Place Christmas trees at curbside before 7:00 a.m. on regular garbage collection day. Remove ornaments, tinsel, tree stands and plastic bags from Christmas trees.
