Campaign Co-Chair MessageAs we approach the close of St. Paul’s 50th anniversary year, the 50th Anniversary Capital Campaign is still going strong. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our donors and provide a brief update on the capital campaign.

Thanks to the generosity of the numerous campaign donors listed in this newsletter, we are very happy to announce that we have already raised over $1.25 million. This has enabled us to complete a major portion of our capital campaign projects. The completed projects include: significantly upgrading the athletic fields with lights, bleachers, and a concession stand; installing air conditioning in the auditorium; upgrading building security; installing wireless capabilities throughout the building; and updating the technology and computer automated design labs.

These improvements have truly transformed St. Paul and dramatically improved the holistic educational experience for our students. We could not have made this much progress without your generous support, but there is still work to be done.

With students and other members of our community visiting to enjoy home basketball and volleyball games, wrestling matches and other events throughout the year, there is a need to replace the 50-year old gym floor and bleachers as well as to establish a meaningful endowment fund, creating a solid foundation for the next 50 years.

In order to complete the gym renovations next summer and significantly enhance our endowment fund, we are tipping off our next phase of the Capital Campaign and calling it, “The 4th Quarter Fast Break”.This next phase will provide naming opportunities and a donor recognition wall outside the gym for all donors giving $1,000 or more. See inside for more details.

This is our moment to make a lasting impression on the future of St. Paul. If you haven’t yet contributed to the 50th Anniversary Capital Campaign, we encourage you to do so now. If you have already given, we sincerely thank you and ask you to consider adding to your gift. May God bless you for your thoughtfulness and generosity.

Establish a SustainableEndowment ($500,000)

We aim to provide access for every child desiring a high-quality Catholic education by maintaining a viable financial aid and scholarship endowment program. (Restricted gifts to date: $40,000+)

Enhance Classroom Technology ($175,000)

We pride ourselves on cutting-edge technology to complement our classroom instruction. We installed a high-density WiFi network, including extensive cable pathways and 50 access point devices throughout our facility. We implemented a 1:1 iPad pro-gram and installed LED ceiling projectors to further integrate technology in the classroom. The computer lab and CAD lab were upgraded this summer. (Cost: $117,933)

Improve Building Security ($175,000)

We are committed to ensure our school is safe and community prepared in the event of an emergency. With a 50% match grant from the State of Connecticut, we installed security cameras monitoring all access points to the school, parking lot and adja-cent recreational areas. Also, we upgraded our entrance video and visitor management systems. (Cost: $133,636; Restricted gift: $66,818 State of CT Grant)

Update Gymnasium Floor,Bleachers & Scoreboards ($475,000)

The gymnasium is a center of student & visitor activity. The proposed renovation to the original gymnasium includes installation of a new floating hardwood floor, bleachers, and scoreboards. (Restricted gifts to date: $72,768)

Install Metal Bleachers & Light Towers to Stadium Field ($425,000)

This phase is complete thanks to the generous in-kind donation of athletic field equipment from Fairfield University. We have changed the landscape of our campus by adding metal bleach-ers that seat over a 1,000 spectators, a concession stand, and six light towers which allow for nights games for football, lacrosse and soccer. (Cost: $109,767; In-kind equipment, labor and services: $322,439)

Install Air-Conditioningin Auditorium ($250,000)

Our 700+ seat auditorium is a hub of student and community rental activity. The physical comfort for large assemblies during the summer months is severely compromised due to lack of air-conditioning. We received a $115,000+ restricted donation to provide momentum to move forward with this project and as of July 2017 the HVAC project is complete. (Cost: $239,885).
