Engine & Transmission ABS

Anti-Lock Braking System

Electronically reactive and painstakingly tested. The new all-round anti-

lock braking system utilises discs at the front and drums at the rear for

optimum all-round performance and cost effective servicing and

maintenance.

With increased performance comes increased control. Designed

specifically for TX4 the ABS helps prevent wheels from locking and

skidding during emergency braking and helps you to maintain steering and

directional stability so you remain in control in the most demanding

situations.

Under electronic control and ready for action at all times, the system

senses when a wheel is about to lock and releases the brake momentarily

so the wheel keeps turning and you keep on steering.

With bigger front brake callipers and thicker rear drums the new ABS

system will stand up to the toughest working conditions as we have

replicated in exhaustive testing.

2.5 litre VM Engine

Cleaner and quieter with outstanding performance and reliability.

Built specifically to meet the latest Euro IV emissions legislation, the VM R425 DOHC

is the cleanest diesel engine ever to beat at the very heart of a LTI taxi. Cleaner and

greener with no compromise in economy or power.

Designed by Europe’s leading diesel engine specialist specifically for the TX4, the high

torque delivery at low speed means you can pull away from a standing start quickly and

comfortably; a feature fundamental to taxi operation.

As you put your foot down, there is no disappointment. The R425 DOHC effortlessly

pulls you up to cruising speed and keeps you there quietly and smoothly as gear driven

twin balance shafts within the engine reduce vibration to a minimum.

With four valves per cylinder and common rail multi-stage fuel injection technology it

packs a punch never before experienced in a purpose-built taxi.

Working in perfect harmony with the new electronic engine management system,

optimum engine performance is achieved as information is seamlessly relayed from the

driver to the engine and transmission.

Finally it is all put to the test. The extensive road and track testing means that you can

expect mile after mile of trouble free motoring. The VM R425 DOHC is the most

stringently tested and reliable engine we have ever had.

It’s a purpose-built engine for the purpose-built taxi.

All-round, all weather performance

Exported all over the world, the new TX4 ABS system is ideal for any

weather condition and any climate.

Automatic Transmission

Proven over 600,000 miles of testing, with 5-speeds and refined for the TX4, the fully

automatic transmission is electronically linked to the entire engine management system.

The carefully chosen ratios match engine output to road speed for the most fuel

efficient use of available power with smooth gear changes.

Manual Transmission

The 5-speed manual transmission is manufactured with increased casing rigidity and the

latest composite construction gearshift technology for improved durability. Like the

automatic, it is refined specifically for the TX4 and delivers greater comfort with

reduced noise which all adds to easier driving.

At Black Horse Taxi Finance we believe we offer a rangeof finance options that allows you to separate your business finance from your personal requirements. Hire PurchaseHire Purchase represents our most popular financing option. Onceyou have identified the taxi for you, all you need to do is to decideupon the deposit you wish to pay and the term over which youwant to spread your repayments. Then, you simply make regularfixed repayments over the agreed period.

Capital and interest charges are included in your repayments and atthe end of the period the taxi is yours to keep.

Protect Yourself and Your InvestmentYour taxi is your living, and so it makes sense to protect it byinsuring yourself against unexpected changes in your circumstances.To this end we have developed a range of insurance products calledPayment Protector Plan (PPP) and Guaranteed Asset Protection(GAP). PPP products are designed to protect you and your familyby covering you, or a nominated driver against accident, seriousillness, or even death. In the case of GAP it pays the differencebetween your insurance payout and the finance settlement on youragreement in the event that your cab is written off in an accident.

Preferences If your priority is lower monthly payments and the option to changeyour taxi every 2 or 3 years, then Preferences could be the solutionfor you.

The re-sale value of traditional cabs is sufficiently strong that we canuse some of the future value held in the cab to reduce your monthlypayments when compared with a similar Hire Purchase option. ThisGuaranteed Minimum Future Value (GMFV) is exactly that,guaranteed subject to an agreed mileage and a full service history inline with the manufacturer specifications.

We can structure your Preferences package over 24, 31 or 36months – so you always know that a new cab is on the horizon.These shorter periods are designed to reduce your monthlycommitment and the higher maintenance bills associated with oldervehicles.

At the end of the agreement you have three options:

1. Trade in or sell the cab and once you have paid the GMFV you are free to use any excess funds (your equity) as a deposit on your next cab

2. Pay the GMFV and own the taxi outright

3. Simply hand the cab back with nothing further to pay (subject to mileage and condition)

TX4 complies with the latest European Directive for End ofLife Vehicles (2000/53/EC)

At the end of its life the disposal, recovery and recycling of TX4 vehicles can

be carried out with the minimum impact on our environment.

Through innovative design and ongoing product improvement, LTI have

reduced the use of hazardous substances to levels lower than those

demanded by new European Legislation.

The recycling targets for 2007 will be comfortably met by LTI products.

A number of components in our vehicles are already produced from

recycled material and LTI’s policy of promotion increased use of

these materials will ensure the impact of our vehicles on

the environment will be reduced on an ongoing basis.

It should be remembered however that at the

end of its life a vehicle is classed as hazardous

waste; containing used oils etc. As such it

should be appropriately treated and

dismantled.

At the end of their life all vehicles

should be stored and treated only by

authorised treatment facilities. For
