Holy Trinity is a successful and lively one form entry primary school located near Dalston-Kingsland
overland station in the heart of Dalston. We serve a vibrant and diverse community, where
excellent relationships promote an inclusive, warm and secure environment where children feel
safe and valued. Our school is in an exciting phase of redevelopment. We are currently one form
of entry expanding into two forms of entry in September 2016.
We are looking for a Digital Development Leader dedicated to developing innovative practices for
use both in and out of the classroom. As the Digital Development Leader you will join our senior
leadership team to support the school in providing an enriched curriculum for pupils through the
use of technology.

Welcome
Holy Trinity is currently a one form entry Church of England Primary School
located in the heart of Dalston. We have classes of 30 pupils from Reception to
Year 6 and a Nursery for up to 26 FTE pupils. Our school has been in the process
of redevelopment and in September 2016 we will become a 2 form entry primary
school. Holy Trinity is one of six schools within the Primary Advantage
Federation, with Sian Davies as the Executive Principal. Yvonne Barnett, is the
Headteacher and leads on teaching and learning in the school and is supported by
a strong Senior Leadership Team.

Holy Trinity CE Primary School is a part of the Primary Advantage Federation.
We are a group of schools working together because we believe our schools can gain many
benefits from working collaboratively and can achieve more by working together. We have

Primary Advantage National Teaching Schools
Teaching schools are outstanding schools that work with others to provide high-quality training and
development to new and experienced school staff. They are part of the government’s plan to give schools
a central role in raising standards by developing a self-improving and sustainable school-led system.
Holy Trinity, Springfield and St John and St James are designated teaching schools, working in
collaboration with the other three schools in the federation; Morningside, St John the Baptist and St
Matthias. The school works in partnership with primary schools across the borough and beyond and play

Job Description - Digital Development Leader
Role Summary:
The Digital Development Leader will be the specialist and expert in the field of digital technology and will use their
wealth of technological skills and knowledge in all areas of IT to enrich, develop and strengthen the curriculum
offered to our pupils and staff. The post holder will have the opportunity to develop a curriculum using state of the
art resources including 1:1 iPad provision for Key Stage 1 pupils upwards. They will keep abreast of technology
developments and update the school curriculum accordingly.
As well as providing and teaching exciting, stimulating and engaging lessons, the Digital Development Leader will be
an active member of the SLT and be solely responsible for creating and promoting computing to the whole school
as well as leading the professional development to staff.
Main responsibilities:
1. Curriculum & Teaching
The Digital Development Leader will enhance the Computing curriculum in the school, federation, wider
community and teaching schools through:
creating and introducing an innovative curriculum and technologies to enhance learning and teaching;
taking full responsibility for the management of technology across the curriculum;
planning, preparing and teaching exciting lessons and schemes of work to develop the computing skills of our
students;
being actively involved in curriculum review and development;
providing pupils with the opportunities and skills necessary to be secondary ready;
maintaining a climate which enables other staff to develop and maintain positive attitudes towards the
subject;
promoting and providing knowledge on effective online safety of all staff and pupils;
undertaking submission of project bids to secure external funds as appropriate to support development and
innovative project work relating to digital learning;
keeping up-to-date with developments in teaching and learning relating to discrete and cross-curricular
computing;
ensuring the development of pupils’ computing, literacy and numeracy skills through the subject where
relevant;
ensuring that schemes of work are properly planned and delivered;
ensuring effective curriculum coverage continuity and progression in the subject and
providing a learning environment is kept up to date; maintains the interest of the children; and is a vital
factor in the maintenance and improvement of standards.
2. Stakeholders and wider community
Promoting ICT to stakeholders and the wider community by;
spearheading the E-Safety Programme with the wider school community;
interpreting legislation to ensure the schools has effective E-Safety conduct processes in place;
working across the federation of schools to enhance their digital development when required;
providing support and leading training for students, trainees and Primary Advantage Teaching Schools;
designing, creating, developing and updating the school profile in the community through the development
of the schools website and other platforms and

3. Development and Training
Provide professional development and training through;
planning, providing, co-ordinating and managing the training and development for all teaching and support
staff on the best use of technology across all key stages of the curriculum;
providing co-ordinating and managing the training and development for all administration staff on the
database and systems management;
regularly monitoring, assessing and evaluating staff progress within own teaching groups in a structured
systematic way and keep appropriate records;
planning and implementing a range of courses for internal and external stakeholders and the wider
community
planning, providing, co-ordinating and managing detailed training materials, user guides and policies;
planning, providing, co-ordinating and managing induction training for new staff and or new resources;
sourcing and attending regular training to ensure personal CPD.
advising and providing guidance around new innovative IT resources for all areas of the school including
office and MIS equipment.
planning, providing, co-ordinating and managing the use of e-mail and online booking/diary management and
school management tools
producing training manuals and video tutorials relating to use of technology within the school and
forming, developing and managing Digital Leaders who will be ambassadors for the school, deliver CPD,
model to others and drive student led projects.
4. Managing the performance of IT Consultants and contracts and liaising with MIS and FMS LA
Advisor
Support the development of all IT databases and manage external services by;
liaising with the MIS/Finance team in assisting with developments and communication relating to quality
data, parental engagement and external communication;
managing and developing systems and support administration in effective advanced pupil administration;
leading and managing the performance of the IT Consultants and contracts in fulfilling the specification of the
service level agreement;
leading and being responsible for the school Online Safety and Digital Security officer and
assisting in inputting data into the School Information Management System (SIMS) for use in assessment.
5. Strategic Management, Development, Finance & Budget
To provide strategic IT Leadership for the school through;
developing and leading annual, three and five-year action plans that aim to maintain a high level of
infrastructure and computing resources;
being directly responsible for the construction and update of the school development plan, action plan,
operational plan and service area review;
implementing policies and practices for the subject that reflect whole school aims and objectives;
Managing the purchase and management of the IT consumables budget and maintain stocks following
procedures;

Job Description - Digital Development Leader assisting and maintaining asset registers of hardware and software, in line with the HLT Financial Procedures;
leading the financial planning for computing, including development of an IT improvement plan and
estimates for future budget requirements;
undertaking risk assessments; implement and suggest modifications to relevant H & S policies and
procedures involving IT;
designing, implementing, monitoring, reviewing and being responsible in procedures for managing and
recording installations and configuration changes;
implementing the school policy on asset disposal in line HLT Financial procedures;
being directly responsible and project managing all major developments within ICT services/resources and
plan/lead their implementation and;
managing routine contacts with external contractors including the LEA and other suppliers;
seeks out opportunities to generate income through a range of activities including provision of services to
other settings.
6. E-safety and Safeguarding
Direct and lead the staff, children and other stakeholders in ensuring e-safety and safeguarding practises
through;
being an active member of the Safeguarding Team;
acting as a named point of contact on all online safety issues and liaising with other members of staff as
appropriate;
keeping up-to-date with current research, legislation and trends. This may include accessing appropriate
training and using a range of approaches to enable them to understand the role of new technology as part of
modern British society and the wider safeguarding agenda;
ensuring that the setting participates in local and national events to promote positive online behaviour, e.g.
Safer Internet Day;
leading on online safety, ensuring that online safety is promoted to parents and carers and the wider
community through a variety of channels and approaches.
working with and leading the guidelines associated to data protection/security to ensure that practice is in
line with legislation;
maintaining an online safety incident/action log to record incidents and actions taken as part of the schools
safeguarding recording structures and mechanisms;
managing and reporting the delivery and impact of the online safety policy;
monitoring and reporting logs of reported online safety incidents to inform future areas of teaching/learning/
training.

liaising with the local authority and other local and national bodies as appropriate.
7. Other Duties

4. Accountability/Freedom to act Create and implement policies. The

Whilst constrained by overall national and School frameworks, there is a degree of interpretation in the way in that their responsibilities are carried out, usually agreed with the Headteacher.
