PARISH STEWARDSHIP 2020

A sincere “THANK YOU” to everyone who has returned their 2020 Stewardship of Treasure Commitment Card. 117 FAMILIES have returned their pledge cards for a total of $219,925. This amount is far less than what we need for our operating budget of $797,000 in order to support the many costs of running the parish and its many ministries, our fellow parishioners and our community. If you are an EFT donor, remember that you still need to submit a pledge card so that we know of your intentions. If you cannot make a pledge, please write “prayer” on your commitment card and return it either in a collection basket or to the parish office.

ADVENT FAMILY SUNDAY

December 1, 1-4pm, Rooms 8 & 10 Join us and spend an afternoon making your

family’s advent wreath while fellowshipping with other families. There will be opportunities to play Advent Bingo and win prizes. Kids can make a variety of Christmas crafts as well as make cards to put in meal packs for homeless teens and nibble on some Christmas cookies. Bring your supplies of greenery (fresh or artificial), items to decorate your wreath and floral wire and clippers. We will have Advent wire candle bases for purchase for $5 and candle sets for $4.

If you have access to fresh evergreens that can be made into wreaths, or supplies that have been sitting in your Christmas craft boxes that can be used to decorate the wreaths, that you would like to donate, please contact Ms. Marilou.

OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE CELEBRATION

The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas, will be celebrated on Thursday, December 12. All parishioners are invited to participate in this special celebration that will begin with the recitation of the rosary at 5:00pm, procession of the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe at 5:30pm and Mass at 6:00pm. Come join our Latino brothers and sisters as together we experience and are blessed by the cultural richness of this celebration honoring our Blessed Mother.

CHARITY FUND COLLECTION

Next weekend we take up our Advent collection to support the Charity Fund of our parish. The monies for the fund come from the loose change that we put into the collection baskets each week and from the checks and cash placed in pink Charity Fund envelopes that are found in the pew racks. Your contributions enable us to reach out to the poor and needy in our parish and the larger community in the Bremerton and Central Kitsap areas. We provide monthly support to over one dozen non-profit organizations such as St Vincent de Paul Society, Pregnancy Resource Center, Kitsap Rescue Mission, Bremerton & Central Kitsap Foodline and Kitsap Community Resources, to name a few. We are only able to provide this support through the donations we make to the fund. The needs are great and your contribution will make a positive difference in this holiday season and all year through. Thank you!

ANGEL TREE GIFT RETURN

ALL ANGEL TREE GIFTS MUST BE RETURNED to the Faith Formation wing next weekend, December 7 & 8. Thank you and God bless you for your generosity!

continue until Saturday, December 14 at 12 noon, ending with Benediction at 11:45am. Please sign up after all Masses in the Welcome Center on November 30, December 1, 7 & 8 or call Margaret Miner at 808-499-5950 or Bobbie Price at 314-308-8112

22nd ANNUAL SIMBANG GABI COMMISSIONING MASS

Saturday, December 14, 11:00am St James Cathedral, Seattle

You are invited to join Archbishop Paul Etienne and Catholics from around the archdiocese for this festive, colorful and prayerful Advent celebration. This Filipino tradition ushers in Simbang Gabi, a novena of Masses meant to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary. For more info contact Deacon Chilo at (206)382-4828 / tinyurl.com/Simbang-gabi2019.

SIMBANG GABI CELEBRATION

Our Filipino Community invites you to join them for a special celebration of Simbang Gabi on Monday, December 16 at 6:00pm. Simbang Gabi literally means “going to the church at night.” It is a special devotional tradition of celebrating mass each of the nine days before Christmas in preparation for the birth of Jesus. This celebration honors the role of Mary in the incarnation and focuses on Jesus, who took on human flesh to save us. We invite you to please bring a gift of non-perishable food to our liturgy.

COLD WEATHER DRIVE THANK YOU!

NEW BREAKING BREAD SONG BOOKS

Our 2020 Songbooks are in the pews. We are requesting the cooperation of all our parishioners in insuring that our songbooks are available throughout the year to support the prayer of all who gather together for worship: -Please do not remove any songbooks from the pews or take them home. For every book that is taken, one less parishioner is able to fully participate in the singing. -Please do not fold over the pages in the books to mark your places. This damages the pages.

PRAYER REQUESTS FOR THOSE WHO ARE SICK: Brian Rodirick, David Guerrero, Elle Coleman, John McMahan, Larry Barnett, May Masterron, Myrna Stacy. PRAYER REQUESTS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE DIED: Anthony Kearney, Jeanne Patraw, Rev Joe Kramis, Joemav Sespence, Ross Cayetano.
