REAL PRESENCE RADIO: Known as one of the first tele- vangelists; Venerable Fulton Sheen was an American Bish- op known for his preaching and especially for his work on radio and later, television, from 1930 through 1968. He was loved and ad- mired by people of all faiths as he tackled the important topics of that time. His message is just as relevant today and we are blessed to have record- ings of those broadcasts which are aired weekly on Real Presence Radio. He combines humor with solid Catholic teaching on topics which continue to impact our lives and the world in which we live. Tune in each Saturday evening at 8:00 p.m. on 1280 AM, 1370 AM and 820 AM. THE PARISH EXTENDS ITS SYMPATHY to Leonard Thielen on the death of his brother, JEROME (JERRY) THIELEN, whose funeral was on Friday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Phoenix, Arizona. We also wish to extend our sympathy to Ted Tibodeau on the death of his wife, ARLENE TIBODEAU. A Memorial Mass will be held here at Holy Rosary on Saturday, September 2 at 9:30 A.M. May they find peace and joy in God’s Eternal Kingdom. An Independence Day Prayer Eternal God, stir up our minds and stimulate our hearts with a high sense of patriotism on this Fourth of July. May all that this day symbolizes renew our faith in freedom, our devotion to democracy and redouble our efforts to keep a government of the people, by the people and for the people truly alive in our world. Amen ATM On site!! On July 4, 2017, just prior to the fireworks, a choir of hundreds will assemble at the KDLM mobile unit on the beach to sing "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." There will be no rehearsals or pre-registration, but the music can be previewed by googling: U.S. Army field band – Battle Hymn. This is not about fireworks, but it is about mobilizing the army of God to saturate the atmosphere with His praises. Those who want to participate but cannot be physically present at the beach may do so by turning on their radios to either 1200 AM or 93.1 FM in their homes or vehicles. The goal is to get the whole city either singing or hearing the music. Vehicles will also criss-cross the city with radios on and windows open. Spread the word and see you there!!

Our worker for the fire victims, poor and homeless is in need of all freezer, outside furniture, ortho/tempur pedic bed, dryer, gas stoves, two baby cribs and all living room furniture. Please drop off at 1231 Lincoln Ave if you have some to donate. They are greatly appreciated!

Esto Vir! is a vocation camp for young men (age 16+). This camp is an opportunity for young men who may be open to the priesthood to come together and spend some days in community with each other and the seminarians of the diocese. The camp includes sports and games, lakeside recreation, Mass, prayer, food, and fellowship. We need you to be a part of our vibrant Faith Formation program as either a catechist, team catechist, substitute catechist or classroom helper to nurture our Catholic faith in our children. Adult Faith Formation Gospel Study: Monday, 10:00 am, Holy Family Room. Reading, reflect and discussion the Sunday readings. All are welcome.

Adult Studies: Holy Rosary has many adult bible, faith and church studies available. Anyone wanting to form a group is welcome to use these and begin your own group at a day and time that works for you. You can also let us know if there is a particular study you would like to do this Fall. Contact Barbara (847-1393 or [email protected]) for information and/or assistance.

Steubenville North – St. Paul: Every year, the senior high youth of Holy Rosary attend a conference called Steubenville North. During

this conference, kids will hear powerful keynote talks, engage in small group discus-sion, and spend time in worship and adoration. If you are looking for an event to send your child to this summer, please consider this one. When: July 28 – 30 Cost: $275 Who: All students grades 8 and up (college students too!) Where: University of St. Thomas, St. Paul

EXALT (XLT): “God raised up David to be their king; of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’” (Acts 13:22) During each talk, the speaker will expand on what it means to have a heart after God. This upcoming week, XLT will be in Detroit Lakes. Frisbee will be at 3:00 pm, dinner at 6:00 pm, and XLT at 7:00 pm. Cody Klamm from Crookston will be giving our keynote that day.

Vegetable garden...Have you seen the wonderful vegeta-ble garden on the southwest side of the parish grounds? This garden is being maintained by the Holy Rosary school kindergarten class. It was part of their project of learning about the earth and the process and rewards of growing your own vegeta-bles! They are also learning math and how tall their bean plants will grow!

anniversary of the third vision of our Lady of Fatima in Portugal in 1917. To honor Mary, a rosary will be said in the Detroit Lakes City Park in a shelter near
