Joshua 10:1-2Now it came about when Adoni-zedek

king of Jerusalem heard that Joshua had captured Ai, and had utterly destroyed it (just as he had done to Jericho and its king, so he had done to Ai and its king), and that the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel and were within their land, that he feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, like one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all its men were mighty.

Joshua 10:11And it came about as they fled

Joshua 10:12Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the

“O sun, stand still at Gibeon,And O moon in the valley of Aijalon.”

Joshua 10:13So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped,Until the nation avenged themselves of their enemies.Is it not written in the book of Jashar? And the sun stopped in the middle of the sky, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.

1 Samuel 15:1-31 Then Samuel said to Saul, "The LORD

sent me to anoint you as king over His people, over Israel; now therefore, listen to the words of the LORD.

2 "Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, how he set himself against him on the way while he was coming up from Egypt. 3 Now go and strike Amalek and utterly destroy all that he has, and do not spare him; but put to death both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.'"

1 Samuel 15:22And Samuel said, “Has the LORD as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.”

1 Samuel 15:23“For rebellion is as the sin of divination, And insubordination is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has also rejected you from being king.”

Saul seized the edge of his robe, and it tore.

1 Samuel 15:28So Samuel said to him, "The

LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to your neighbor who is better than you.

1 Samuel 28:11-12Then the woman said, “Whom shall

I bring up for you?” And he said, “Bring up Samuel for me.”

When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out with a loud voice; and the woman spoke to Saul, saying, “Why have you deceived me? For you are Saul.”

1 Samuel 28:13-14And the king said to her, “Do not be

afraid; but what do you see?” And the woman said to Saul, “I see a divine being [Elohim] coming up out of the earth.”

And he said to her, “What is his form?” And she said, “An old man is coming up, and he is wrapped with a robe.” And Saul knew that it was Samuel, and he bowed with his face to the ground and did homage.

1 Samuel 28:18-19“As you did not obey the Lord and did

not execute His fierce wrath of Amalek, so the Lord has done this thing to you this day.

Moreover the Lord will also give over Israel along with you into the hands of the Philistines, therefore tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. Indeed the Lord will give over the army of Israel into the hands of the Philistines!”

Thus Saul died with his three sons, his armor bearer, and all his men on that day together.

1 Kings 11:1-2Now King Solomon loved many

hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines, and his wives turned his heart away.

when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away after other gods; and his heart was not wholly devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father had been.

1 Kings 11:30-31Then Ahijah took hold of the new

cloak which was on him, and tore it into twelve pieces.

And he said to Jeroboam, “Take for yourself ten pieces; for thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon and give you ten tribes.’”
