NP Charlene

The call came in from a member whom Charlene saw last year and then again this year.

Last year, Charlene heard a noise indicating partial blockage of the member’s carotid artery. She told him to visit his doctor. His doctor told him everything was OK.

During this year’s visit, Charlene stressed with urgency that he again see his doctor. The member did just that and requested a referral to see a cardiologist. The cardiologist said he had 90 percent blockage of the artery.

The message from the member was short and simple, “Thank you for saving my life.”
