MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• Master data was substantially streamlined: o The item master consisted of 58,000 item records o New parts were created to distinguish between overhaul, repairs or warranties and other

circumstances o The team reduced the number by approximately 90 percent and ended up migrating

approximately 5800 product-based items

• Using Infor Document Output management, Heroux can print customer and supplier-facing documents using the HDI logo and directly email documents to their business partners.

• The Heroux sales team previously used Oracle sales orders for all sales entry: o LN-based Sales Quotations was introduced for repeat business quotations o Quotations can now be tracked and processed into a sales order

• LN Sales Contracts was introduced to track long-term contracts:

o Heroux now registers long-term agreement of price, item, quantity and delivery schedule o Delivery schedules are now converted into sales orders o Heroux now tracks sales contract compliance and product commitment acceptance o Heroux improved demand forecasting through date tracking instead of sales contract terms




• For Overhaul, Repair and Warranty sales: o RMA sales transactions showing receipt from the customer were a problem o RMA Order Type and Sales Order was implemented to bring inventory back into the warehouse

on a separate sales order automatically linked to the original sales order o Returned inventory is now inspected and dispositioned more accurately o Rework production orders are automatically created and transferred to a new PCS project item

• Biggest improvement was the implementation of Factory Track that:

o Allows operators to clock in and out of jobs o Brings real-time capture of production data by order o Provides better understanding of cost and manufacturing time o Increases routing accuracy

• Full traceability was added:

o Lot-controlled items o Implementation of serialization for finished goods items o Implementation of incoming inspection functionality for all purchases o New management of customer returns o Failures are now sent to Quarantine (the MRB cage)

§ Better disposition: Quarantined parts can be dispositioned into scrap, used as is or sent on for rework on a production order

§ Parts in the MRB cage are blocked from being transacted on and kept separate from the planning engine.

• Improved operations: o The ability to reject material at the operations level

§ Improved dispositioning by sending Quarantine items for inspection o Full visibility and traceability of materials o Improved document management, Quality inspectors now attach related documentation to

inspection transactions o Eliminated the need for external logging of the ERP system

• Vendor Rating improvement:

o Ability to measure and record quality and on time delivery o Real time inspections and on time delivery information now calculate overall vendor rating

score o Allows for supply chain improvement leading to better production, order fulfillment and

customer satisfaction
