The designer Daniela Cousins’ love of making sock monkeys and her frustration with only being able to find gender-typical socks (when she felt all kids are far from typical) were what inspired her to launch Hello Toes.

When Daniela’s son, then 3 years old asked for socks with glittery lurex like his sisters, since after all, “stars glitter, and so does dragon blood”, Daniela set out to break the mould, and a gender-neutral sock range full of colour and fun was born. Why shouldn’t boys have as much fun as girls, and girls as much fun as boys?

The Hello Toes philosophy centres around the feeling that special things shouldn’t be saved for special occasions, and basics including socks - needn’t be so basic.

A mother of two children, one boy and one girl, Daniela guides the Hello Toes range each season into a world of mix and match, where siblings can swap and not a truck or fairy is in sight.
