Welcome all!

Welcome to your second home. Hopefully you will have a great year studying here.

I am a third year civil engineering student. All the teachers and staff of DMC are are very helpful to us all. Our college has wonderful facilities for every student.

If you need any help the Student Administration Council are happy to help you. Come and experience the student activities area with us.

The Student Administration Council (SAC) in Dubai Men’s College is elected to serve as their student governing body of the college. The SAC is the primary representative and advocate for the students, liaising with administration, faculty, alumni, and students.

Our mission is a two-fold: advocacy and programming. On the advocacy end we strive to gather student opinions, actively represent and express student views, appropriately address student concerns, and provide a forum for the student body.

On the programming end we strive to create and continue social traditions and programs designed to foster cohesiveness within the entire undergraduate population; for example, we are responsible for the SAC Festival, the National Day, the Beach Party in Al Mumzr, the HCT Student Council Election, and other events.

You can contact me by email [email protected]

Hopefully we can have a great year together and can communicate well with each other.

IELTS examinationsStudents must have taken their first sitting before entry into HD Semester 5 English.

For Higher Diploma exit requirements, DMC runs two Academic Module IELTS tests a year, in May and December. Students must be registered for these exams six weeks prior to the exam date. Students are responsible for accurately completing the registration form and submitting the completed application on time. This registration process includes attaching to the form a valid passport copy and two color passport photographs. Medical certificates/ reports to document a Special Need or learning disability are required if requesting a modified paper or additional time or special requirements. This medical documentation must be valid within two years of taking the IELTS examination. These documents must be submitted at the time of exam registration. Late registrations are not allowed.

Higher Diploma registered students are entitled to two attempts at IELTS free of charge to make the HD exit requirement. Students who are absent on the day of the exam, must present a valid medical certificate or lose one of their free exam sittings.

Students can take the IELTS exam free of- charge within DMC at an earlier stage, based on teacher recommendation and passing a mock IELTS exam run through the Learning Centre. Students who are taking IELTS for the third time must pay the exam registration fee, currently 850 Dhs. A student who fails the IELTS exam in HD Semester 4 is encouraged to prepare for the IELTS exam independently through the DMC Learning Centre.

From January 2004, once officially registered in DMC as an HD student, you may take the exam at any time externally. Each external test will cost you Dhs 850. You must pay for this yourself. HCT will recognize the IELTS as being valid for five years. If you take the exam externally, you must present your certificate to Academic Services in order that the HCT may process and record your results for the HD English graduation requirement and/or as a BAS entry requirement.
