HCL TO BECOME PRIME IMPLEMENTER FOR JDA SOLUTIONS IN INDIA Partnership to provide comprehensive solutions to the retail and CPG community New Delhi, March 30, 2005: HCL has today signed a partnership agreement with JDA to become the prime implementer for JDA solutions in India and the preferred implementation partner for APAC. This partnership lays the foundation of a strong and mutually beneficial relationship between both companies and uniquely positions JDA, the partnership vehicle to leverage the strengths of both the partners. HCL has been the hardware supplier to retailers in India and this association makes it a one-stop shop for hardware, software, and support for the retail and CPG community. HCL has taken the first step in bringing this IT solution to the Indian market and is well positioned to leverage this partnership to expand its integrated software solutions to retailers in India and across Asia Pacific countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. Regarding the transaction Brewer added, “By partnering with HCL Technologies, we will augment our ability to support our customers throughout India and the entire Asia Pacific region through access to the extensive resources of India's leading global IT services and product engineering company.”

Rajiv Sodhi, Vice President, HCL Global Retail Delivery organization said, “India is primed for the great opportunity in retail and with IT solutions from JDA this dream will become a reality soon. India is on the radar of global retailers, where suppliers/brands worldwide are willing to partner with retailers here.” The HCL JDA agreement will translate into JDA installing its products at the “HCL Center of Excellence for JDA”, where JDA will provide the software, training material, e-learning access and support while HCL will provide the hardware training. HCL will set up a core team for training on JDA as part of ramping up the capacity to offer these services. In the beginning of the association JDA employees will be part of the core HCL team to ensure seamless and excellent quality of service. HCL has aligned with JDA for many of the products and solutions within their JDA Portfolio® suite. The partnership will provide MMS®, Win/DSS(tm), Intactix(tm) Space Planning and Floor Planning, E3, Arthur Enterprise Suite, and Performance Analysis by IDEAS® data warehouse. It is however, the implementation services that will be the key for retail businesses and this is where the HCL-JDA partnership will leverage the alliance benefits to considerable advantage.
