Comedy SportzSenior Remy Garfield really gives it his all in the Comedy Sportz competition. Houston Christian came in second place overall throughout all of the SPC competition in the high school Comedy Sportz league.

Seniors or Senior Citizens?Bree Perry and Liz Olinde got out their night gowns and canes for Generation Day! Freshmen dressed up as babies, Sophomores were toddlers, Juniors dressed as parents, and Seniors were senior citizens. Bree says, “I enjoyed generation day, because we basically got to wear pajamas.”

International DayAshlyn Way and Sarah Byars show off their school spirit by dressing up as toddlers for Generation Day! Ashlyn says, ”Powder Puff week is so much fun because we got to dress up instead of wearing our uniform!”

Team Captain Taylor Buchanan was the quarterback for the junior class. “I practiced a lot before the game and had so much fun playing,” says Taylor Buchanan.

Kiss Me I’m IrishSeirra Wilbur, Grace Lawson, Sonia Kerrigan and Gio Piosl perfrom a traditional Irish dance. Sonia says, “I have been doing Irish dance for nine years and like it because it is fun and unique.”

Una Bailarina Bonita Sophmore Rachael Nichols prefoms the traditional Spanish dance called Flamenco. Rachael says, “Seno-ra Laura asked me and a few other girls to preform and we had to choreograph it ourselves.”

HC @ SPCHC runs, jumps, and scores into victory

Every Second CountsJunior Richard Hansen the led the Boys 4x400m relay, helping HC get third in the event by only a fraction of a second. Richard Hansen, Harrison Swiggart, Will Bates and Will Vail also set a new HC record of 3:25.74 minutes.

Hopping over HurdlesIn the 300m hurdles, Sophomore, Matt Christopherson ran a time of 44.78 seconds. This is also Matt’s first year of doing hurdles.

Serving a Victory at SPCThe HC Men’s tennis team competed in the SPC Championships for tennis. They came in third place after winning two sets.

Match Set PointHC girl’s team went in as the tenth seed and they finished in seventh place. They had beat Kinkaid in their match.

The Last at BatSeniors Erick Garza, Matt Metoyer, Michael Raitt and Jordan Gochenour went up to SPC Championships at St. Mark’s School. SPC is also their last game playing for HC

Ready to Go! Will Spaulding, a future student at Southwestern, is ready to get his awards. He has played football during his years at HCHS. “I will miss this place but I am happy to be moving on in life”

Go Army! Stoetzer Gray has made some remarkable accomplishments. He has completed all of the Boy Scout merit badges and is an excellent student. He is seen in the picture above getting an acceptance letter from West Point.

SKA This is the last time all of the seniors will be in a picture together. They are all happy to be moving forward in their lives but also are sad they won’t be seeing some of their friends everyday once they move off to different colleges.

Go Navy! Jordan Rapp receives his acceptance letter from the United States Naval Academy. He has been working very hard to be admitted into the Academy and now it finally paid off. He is looking forward to his experience there.

Distinguished Scholars Phillip Schwartz, Jake Byars, Jordan Rapp, Jonathan Sun, Alec DelSota, Kylan Kinkaid, and Sofia Vasquez are all students enrolled in DSP. Throughout their years at HCHS they have been working very hard on one research topic.
